    I had no idea about the cancer. That's really shocking but at the same time not surprising considering his lifestyle.

    The cancer is the reason he dropped out of the Mayoral Race after his first term. His brother took over his campaign for Mayor (and lost), with Rob running for his old seat (which he won handily). But the cancer was aggressive and stopped responding to treatment. News hit Toronto this weekend that he was in bad shape and that his family was with him.

    Yesterday they were saying he had a chance on the news. CP24 and CBC.ca sounded so hopeful, despite the situation. I'm kind of in a bit of shock right now!

    Condolences to his friends and family. 46 is far too young. Cancer sucks.
