    I figured out the spot where I want to leave. I'll write it up sometime tonight as I'm still at work.

    Bardan_Jusik, CPL_Macja, and Seira Trasks planet side with Fress.

    Updated the Galaxy Defender-class Dreadnought; more updates to be expected. I noticed I need to add air support units to Hilick Soal's Assertor-class Star Dreadnought, which I will add ASAP.

    I will probably work on a response this weekend. Bravo, what is the current makeup of the fighter screen that the Allegiance has put up around her and her fellow KoJ starships? ARC-170s and Eta-2s, I assume?

    I forgot to mention, I'm putting Phoenix in on the run, I also have her permission to move her character around for her...

    Don't forget about the X-wings and blast boasts they have also ;)

    Bardan_Jusik, I reviewed my post for the Allegiance on page 142. Appartnly, I didn't post specifics on the defense screen. Assume a least 3 squadrons: 1 Recon-170, 1 Y-Wing, 1 X-Wing. I'm assuming the Eta-2's are engaging priority targets planet side due to their speed and agility with the rescue, with 1 Recon-170 and 1 X-Wing squadron supporting the rear guard formation. Everything else would likely be deployed in the rescue attempt, since the Imperials have the upper hand in numbers with starfighters.

    Great posting everyone!

    And Bardan, I thought you captured Jeth's attitude to Firecracker perfectly.

    There are going to be dogfights going on at several flashpoints - up where the Cimmerian, House of Vimal, Allegiance, Snap Dragon are;
    high altitude over the jungle;
    low over the jungle - Trixie Belle, Yav's flight, Luck's Gamble nearby, TIE squadron;
    over the sea between East Coast and pirate island - 'Vimal rescue craft and Imperial IDTs;
    over the pirate island - Allegiance rescue craft, starfighters etc.

    Yeah, SWBob, copying and pasting another persons' speech helps make the conversation more lively, though I find it better to italicise the other player's stuff so as not to confuse it with what I have written.

    I should have a Taab/Atin post up shortly, just working out a few last details.

    OK, it's in. I didn't have anything to add for the Eleventh Hour. So assume she is still sitting there alongside the DD escorting her.

    ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS AND STAFF

    No, Intervention is not closing. We're still open for business. :)

    When I first envisioned writing this, I thought it would be unthinkable. And maybe, at times, it was. But, after sitting down and talking to some old RPG friends from the boards here last night, I've come up with a solution.

    To summarize before I go any further, Intervention cannot continue in its current format. When Intervention started in 2009 (I was 24 years old), like I told my RPG friends last night, I was what I would now consider a "bachelor GM". Bachelor part not meaning single, but more meaning that I had less responsibility in life outside of the game. In short, I was able to continue RPing like I was in my young 20's. Now at 29 and Intervention turning 5 years old next June, life has changed...stuff has changed. Problem is, I can't just leave Intervention. By quitting---unless given an appropriate unavoidable life circumstance---is not an option for me. I, as first a player and now as a GM, haven't come this far in 12 years of being on the boards to just "give up". Its been a dream of mine to GM and I'm not giving it up without a fight toe to toe. The friendships and connections I've made since 2009 here in the game are priceless and no words can do it justice. So, like I said, quitting is not an option.

    The game is big in every way for a GM and I can't continue to ask the staff and players to keep plugging holes when more show up on my end. Its like a submarine, eventually we'll sink.. With my laptop melting earlier this month, I lost all of my files, including the game files. Very depressing. And my backup files, if restored, would wipe my current desktop. So I have a buddy looking into a way of retrieving my mirror save off of my portable drive without wiping another computer in the process. Long story short, all of this got me thinking. I can't continue to GM or manage a game on Intervention's scale. So, with some help from my RPG friends from last night and my own original ideas for the second game, I've come up with a new game structure. Staff and players, please use this thread as a open forum to discuss the changes I have proposed and what you want or don't want in the game. I will adopt ideas from this thread into the "final product."

    • No more flights/squadron; the traditional "squadron" format of Intervention is being replaced. While "pilots" and Falcon's position as Squadron Leader will remain, the concept of a dedicated squadron will be a volunteer / NPC role and no longer "mandatory". This is being done since the squadron concept was only used a handful of times since Intervention's opening and more ground-based skills have become a focal point. In short, envision a more Firefly type approach to missions with the added starfighter element. But in no means are we becoming Firefly---that idea was proposed and I have rejected it, saying Intervention had its own taste and style.

    • The next game will focus more on individual character actions and smaller missions, verses massive teamwork and squadron formations.

    • The staff workload is being massively reduced, with staff members "adopting" several players under them to control. Similar to our old system of "flights".

    • Parts of the original storyline for the second game are being kept---of what I can remember with my game notes being destroyed---and a new storyline is being added to it. No worries Sith-I-5, all of the stuff you had planned with the Imperials is being kept.

    • Our current Intervention game will be ending very soon, most likely by the end of this weekend or next weekend. Why so quick? Because I want to add a wrench in the monkey works----I want to present the unexpected to allow the players and staff to shine with their talent as RPers. I will construct a ending post and post it here in OOG as reference, before posting the end of the game. You all will be able to write your ending posts based off of that OOG information.

    The second game, Echoes in Eternity, will be starting soon. Very soon. I am going to start prepping everything from my somewhat of a steel trap of a memory onto WORD for the second game. There will be inconsistencies between the first game and second game on my end---I simply don't have a photographic memory to remember over 4 years of game play. Although at times I wished I did. I will prep staff on what I can, but no one panic. Well maybe no one but me. All we are doing is ending one game and simply moving into a continuation of a second game. Things will have to change from my original idea to make it work, but it has to happen. Mentally I am simply exhausted and need a change from the good 'ole game. There may be a week or two limbo between games or it may happen right away. Either way, we are simply making a much needed change.

    Okay, let the chaos begin. Remember, no blasters. But you can vote me off the island...wait... ;)

    God Bless,

    Jason

    I remember allowing the Imperials to take Brice into custody along with adoptive parents and Rex. Is this still part of the game plan or not? If so I want Fress to break off from the Johnny Boy to track Soal's flagship down.

    No more flights/squadron; the traditional "squadron" format of Intervention is being replaced. While "pilots" and Falcon's position as Squadron Leader will remain, the concept of a dedicated squadron will be a volunteer / NPC role and no longer "mandatory"

    so just to be clear. Those who want to be in the squadeon can, and the rest of the spots are filled by NPCs? Or am I not understanding this correctly?

    Yes, Falcon, you are correct. I am still working out the details---and Bardan_Jusik has volunteered to help---with what that will look like. I am starting to work on the details tonight. :)

    Falcon, I am trying to find a way to allow any squadron members the flexibility to be as mobile and free as they want---if you have any suggestions, please let me know! :)

    Most likely, Intervention will continue for a few weeks more then two weeks. I'm sitting down and trying to hash this out is already taking longer then expected. ;)

    For tonight, I am going to be hashing through ideas for this transition for the next game.

    Bardan is helping you with the setup? How about him voluteering Taab and the crusader maybe [face_batting]

    I did set some limits with Mitthy and not sure if he told you what those limits were or not.

    Brice remains unharmed for the most part, maybe a little bit torchuring with a few drugs, but thats the extent. No taking off limbs or anything like that.

    Same with Rex

    If Brice can be on the Johnny Boy for the second game I may rethink about what happens to the adoptive parents.

    Those are the conditions that Mitthy and I have agreed on.

    Bravo, Bardan_Jusik
