It should work, Sith. As long as the now small fleet takes the "safe routes" back, they should more or less avoid the worse of the ion storms. And with both a King and King II providing tractor beam towing, it should be just fine.

Posted. I wanted to start to bring the older story elements of the game back into the forefront to get ready for the second game. Bardan_Jusik, this post will help define what the roles of the Kingdom of Jod in relation to the storyline had always been in regards to the upcoming second game. It'll make things a lot more clearer to understand. :)

Bravo, we never talked about blowing the station up, although I would like to leave the bit behind that the file downloaded from Pic to the station after the virus purge was a means of attaining true AI status and routing methods around safeties and better preventitive measures from the noted virus. What the station makes of that is left to you though ;)

This'll actually be quite funny, Captain Stakes and General Perez dragging along the Vella Gulf because they think they've got five, maybe six capital ships on their side - Delicate Delinquent, Johnny Boy, SoJ, Antecedent, Vella Gulf -, and turn up to find the Unequivical Fleet waiting for them.

    Oh.

And in other news, really loving the Taab / ARC Flight stuff going on at Ord Pardron, particularly during everything, how much Taab is concerned about his son's progress.

Will do Mitth. I'm thinking of leaving the station for possible storyline purposes then.

True. But, considering the civil war within Jod, the possible Beast attacks, and the overall defense of Actualize Station, the majority of the Unequivocal Fleet will have to stay behind for defense (and to rebuild the Kingdom's Navy, since that fleet has all that remains of the Jod's loyal navy). Add a few King II's and LD's (Light Destroyers) to the ships you listed Sith, then that will what will compose the Guardians' Reliance Fleet.

Yea Bardan_Jusik, that's what I'm afraid of. That emerging from his father's shadow... [face_worried]

I'm typing up a post now Jusik.

Added Kingdom of Jod Starfighter Corps' uniforms to the Quick Reference, as well as updating that the "Patrol Caps" are worn all the time aboard the ship by the rank and enlisted that have to wear them in the Kingdom's Navy.

There is probably a storyline element why not, but hasn't it occurred to the COR-aligned majority of the Kingdom's Navy, to use the their ships to maintain the defense of the Jod worlds? I mean, if I was a senior officer on our side of the fleet, unless I had information suggesting otherwise, I would automatically assume that to be the case, and not think to assign any of my forces to defending the worlds...or did you mean, solely defending Actualize Station?

Remember, the COR are preparing for the "Big Drop" to invade the Beast home world. So, their defense forces around their own planets would be stripped down to skeleton forces. The Unequivocal Fleet is solely devoted to Actualize Station's defense until more ships are either captured from the COR, defections happen within the COR, or the Royal House-aligned forces build up their strength. Within that context, if Beast forces slip past the skeleton forces defending COR-controlled space, the Unequivocal Fleet would detach what ships it could to help its people, hoping to "win them over" when the COR fail to show up.

Right now, its the classic political game. The Jod people, distraught with the way the Royal House / Royal Palace was handling government affairs in regards to trade, growth, and dealing a death blow to the Beasts once and for all, jump ship and join up with the newest and coolest political word on the street: a new beginning. That's how most revolutions and or civil wars start anyways. Someone thinks their way is better then the current government's way of doing things. The general population, aided by the massive defections of the King's Army and Kingdom's Navy because of the decade-long behind the scenes movements of the Truth Movement (putting radical ideals in the young minds of service men and women), the average Joe-smoe civilian is going to with the majority, since they really don't know the political issues behind what is going on.

When the COR fail to show up and "save the day" against the Beasts and, instead, the Royal Palace that they rejected does, the average Joe-smoe once again will go with whoever is saving their butts. In the grand scheme of things, like in the Nazi Party of World War II, only the highest in the COR government really know what's going on. Like with the German Army in WWII, the King's Army and Kingdom's Navy are following orders to serve the people, protect the people. A course, you could get into a huge debate over if a soldier i just a machine following orders or a individual with the ability to make independent moral decisions (as in arguing if the German Army should of followed the Nazi Party's orders or not / or if the Roman Legions should of followed the orders of the Roman Emperors).

But, I contrast it with Babylon 5's storyline. The Earth Alliance, headed by President Clark (after the sudden assassination of the former president who Clark was the Vice President to), turn the government into its own puppet, forming the Night Watch (to link to the historical Nazi Gestapo). The Earth Alliance military, although with certain military officers knowing something was wrong with the former president's assassination but not able to prove it yet and staying low, follow their orders, forming secret meetings and rebellion cells to aid when the time comes to overthrow President Clark's regime. Even when Babylon 5 openly defies Earth Dome's orders and turns into a rogue station, only a handful of Earth Alliance ships join B5's cause. Even through fighting their own ships, much of the Earth Alliance stays loyal to President Clark until the final moments of the war. Even after the war, when the now dead President Clark's motives are shown to the public and that he killed the former President, many "Earthers" still rally behind Night Watch and President Clark's message of a pro human Earth government.

The Kingdom of Jod / COR storyline is much the same. The average military man is following the orders of his superiors, but linking it to the American Civil War, the Kingdom of Jod splits different then the B5 storyline because of home ties to their own Regions. Those home Regions, driven by different political aims, form the COR on the assumption to dispose the Royal House that they all had a hatred or at least strong disagreement with to go as far as open rebellion. The majority of the COR's military forces, like in the American Civil War, are just protecting their "home States," not much interested in the politics of the time (like most Confederate soldiers could of cared less about slavery, only the Southern elite cared enough to go to war over it).

So, as I will show IC later on, certain military elements of the COR will start to have misgivings of the COR leadership and secretly try to contact the Royal House. But, for now like in B5, the COR (i.e. Earth Alliance) forces are stuck in serving the people's interests and protection, not necessary that of the COR.

Sith-I-5, am I assuming correctly that your inserting SG-12 before the meeting between Petain and the Crusader?

I'm okay with it. The only part I found confusing was:

The Alacrity and all her starfighters have exited the area into Red Space, leaving the Adamantine and the Crusader on the airless rock about to conduct a meeting.

If I remember the Essential Atlas correctly, ships exiting hyperspace have to exit on the outskirts of a star system, since any gravity well from the planets within the star system would yank them out of hyperspace unexpectedly before they reached their destination and hence cause them to crash into the planet. If I am correct, then SG-12 would be exiting hyperspace just as the Alacrity jumped to Red Space. The two would of either missed each other by moments or seen each other in the last seconds before the Alacrity jumped to Red Space. Either way, the non-sightings or sightings would have been extremely brief.

If this is all correct, then that leaves you with the Adamantine approaching the Crusader for a fly-by and the Hard Eight (I assume) still on Ord Pardon. It would be unclear, depending on the position of the airless rock (but since Captain Reynolds saw the Alacrity jump to Red Space, they have to be within naked eye distance of each other) in relation to the hyperspace exit and entrance points, if SG-12 can see the Adamantine by the naked eye or sensors only or neither at all.

Although the hyperspace exit/entry at a systems' outskirts would make sense with a hyperdrive's sensetivity to gravity, I have never seen it demonstrated in Star Wars, apart from say the 'Falcon leaving Tatooine, and travelling for ages before jumping to lightspeed.

Really, only playing an early computer game called Elite have I ever encountered a starship having to negotiate the length of a star system at sublight to reach anywhere. Han Solo's warning about navicomp calculations is about flying through a star or a planet, and the hyperspace shadows of physical bodies are what provides the hazard, but no source in SW has really said there is any danger in hyperspacing through the rest of the system, so I haven't really taken any notice of the whole outskirts thing.

I am doing it this time, because you specifically had the Crusader being escorted out to that point.

With the current storyline, I will re-post, not detecting anything on the sensor sweeps, and make my way to the planet.
Apart from the Crusader-meet on a planetoid, I will assume the Jod have withdrawn all forces from the system.

There are instances in books which I remember hyperspace jumps being used within a system, the hazard is that if you have a faulty timer or a brief glitch that adds a second or delays reponse to drop out of hyperspace you can vap yourself etc. Not to mention most systems have asteroid belts somewhere in there, and the more heavily trafficked a system is the more coordinated entry and exit routes have to be. In one of the newer two book series it got mentioned that the hero didn't like not having his/her old political/military status because military were only legally allowed to jump into the heart of the system and civilian traffic had to drop out at the edge and fly in. I think that was Luke in the book where he met the masters of the White Current for the first time. IIRC.

That Luke anecdote does sound familiar.

Since we rarely play law-abiding civilians, no reason we should take any notice of the rule, guideline.

Ord Pardron, just so I am clear, have the two ARCs that were following the Sardonic at a "safe distance", gone? Are there any Jod forces still on the planet?

Saw Warm Bodies last night. My mate had a free ticket, so I worked my lunch and left work early to join him to see this film.

For a zombie feature, very heartwarming and easy to watch. Glad to have seen it.

Sith, all Jod forces are removed from both the planet and the star system (except for the airless rock meeting, with just the landing craft).

Last I saw Jim, he was sitting in Yav's ready room, sitting across from the elf and Chief Williams, both waiting on him to tell them what he had found.

    Have you posted since then?
