I took a brief look at the Jason Lasso posts.

I thought, Well, at least he didn't mention the prune juice......oh wait, that was me on Rocketjocks.

Still working on SG-12 post. PM sent to Intervention.

Well, frag. I am glad that one is out of the way. That Malastare one was a tough one to write.

Sith-I-5, I forgot to post last night that the Jod agent would have nothing on his person linking him to the Kingdom of Jod. The only link would be a data-burst from the same Jod Destroyer over Ord Pardon.

    Mitth, to answer that question...

I am super excited for the next game. Think about it: when Intervention first started, we had the Johnny Boy and a very small view of the greater Intervention galaxy. We grew in 2010 and 2011, adding a second ship with DREAMSTAR and Master_Ponta and Helljumper1178. We were about to expand with Wildwookiee and add a CR90 Corvette before DS and company, but those plans fell short. With that said, the Intervention universe has grown, adding the Authority, Sword of Justice, Vella Gulf, and Sith-I-5 DD. Beyond the ships, we've added characters (both IC and NPC), storylines, plots and twists, and a depth to Intervention not seen before. Now we're going to take this created universe from the players and staff and put it back to focus on the Johnny Boy. All of the depth will remain, the DD will be a important part of the second game, etc. But we'll focus all of this story we've all created into, as the Rocky Mountain Fan Force says, a "Force to be reckoned with."

All of that detail wrapped up into a new and fresh storyline. I think I need a napkin to wipe the drool off my face now. :p

.Brought to you by a newbie smart phone user.

Woke at keyboard, and wrote out Lasso response while barely conscious. Glad to have made progress on the quadlaser gunners though.

I like the NRT post action against the COR. Good action, though I probably felt the pang of Jod killing fellow Jod more than Barman and his squad did.

Thing about writing my Lasso response while barely awake and desperate for sleep, I missed an opportunity to notice Lasso's reference to Dak, who should be aboard the missing Johnny Boy.

Remember Sith, the Johnny Boy is no longer missing. Its at Actualize Station; Lasso is in effect using the space station to boost the JB's own signal.

For a lack of sleep, Sith, your post was really good. :)

I'll be adding more to the NRT post; I was doing it in the early morning hours and just ran out of steam. The Jod killing Jod completely escaped my mind last night.

I know the JB is no longer missing, but Yav and the DD people should not.

I wrote the quad-laser stuff, fell asleep at the keyboard and woke up at around 5am, then wanted to do the Yav and Williams thing before going to bed, for work in a few hours.

I fell asleep last night and forgot to log out. Went to pick up Coffee last night from her clinical (I drove her in, because there was a blizzard all day here) and made it about as far as the couch, which is, two feet from the door. :p

I'm working on the opening page/welcome page to the second game, started it last night, but that whole couch and sleep thing stopped me short.

I will be getting posts up ASAP. I took the day off of work; took Coffee to clinical due to a snow storm we had this morning and have had doctor appointments the rest of the day. Should be able to get posts up tonight.

    How is everyone doing?

What are the thoughts about the reboot of the Mercs with Taller retiring? Do the Mercs sound more...rough?

    Coffee_Ninja, Mitth_Fisto, Sith-I-5, JediFalcon, CPL_Macja, Bardan_Jusik;

Hey all, could we all repost our updated character sheets (updated from when you originally joined if needed) here in the Rocketjock? I know I asked this a while back and I think I got one or two responses. Both CPL_Macja and myself need updated character sheets both for the Wiki Library and for the Quick Reference here. Thanks! :)

I'll be updated my character sheet this week and posting it here.

The Royal Command-issued shuttles would (starfighters are only equipped with hyperdrives); those shuttles would be the Aka'jor-class shuttles only. But I don't know what the mass to capability is for a Red Rock drive (i.e. can a starfighter-sized hyperdrive support a Star Destroyer's mass, etc?). I would assume the mass to capability would be the same as with hyperdrives and, since space has no gravity, I don't know if the mass to capability would even matter anyways.

If one looks at the ships cross sections a proportional ratio seems to be evident for the size of hyperdrive verses size of ship. With the smaller the hyperdrive to ship ratio equalling a slower hyperdrive. Thus a Star Destroyer has a huge reactor and a giant multi-storied hyperdrive, and a fighter that goes the same speed has one about the size of an oversized piece of luggage. Take of this what you will. That is the extent of my understanding for such things.

EDIT: As an aside, I believe it goes off of mass, not weight, as mass is independent of gravity or location ;) Also would explain why some references in a couple books have noted that how far vs how fast a ship could go also depended on how full their cargo holds are and hyperdrive rating equiped.

    Introduction and Patch Four

Yavscout's undercover arrival on the Merc's home base of Port Haven, was marred by a splashdown in the surf, and the irate mercenary population that forced him and fellow Merc recruit Lyra Cascada into a death match at a local arena, with the elf attempting to prevail against a humourless Noghri warrior, until the Johnny Boy, returning from an operation, literally dropped a rescue shuttle through the arena roof.

Strident Haze mission This was the elf's first big mission, and possibly the making of him. Joining three Merc Flights, Yavscout infiltrated the Imperial Nebulon-B escort frigate, Strident Haze, part of a convoy escorting the Battle of the Red Rock Kingdom painting.

When Darth Vader himself took an interest in the mission, every Merc found their lives placed in the most serious danger, and not all made it out alive.

Sounil Mistry - "I heard you were on the same ship as Darth Vader! What did you do?"
    Yavscout - "I died."

Mission Impossible Finding himself stuck with the Mercs, with no method to contact SGIS, Yavscout managed to enveagle a visit to Commenor, where he hoped to find a commercial hypercomm to phone home.
Captain Taller gave the elf a secret mission to get a sensor cloak to conceal an area of the planet Watava, as a precursor to a Jod/Merc operation to extract a Red Rock artifact from some ancient ship wreck.

Offered a lift through Hutt Space by the Jod battleship, Sword of Justice, Yav enlisted their help to get the required tech from a scuttled Imperial interdictor cruiser, the Delicate Delinquent.

In the meantime, the Empire unexpectedly got to the Red Rock on Watava, took it for themselves, and glassed the planet.

Captain Taller, on learning from Captain Stakes of the empty Imperial capital ship sitting in space, and that he had a Merc onboard, saw the chance to rescue dozens of prisoners from an Imperial penal facility in deep space, and assigned Yavscout to take the ship over, and bring it to the Block, putting the elf and his allies into direct conflict with a platoon of Zero-Gee spacetroopers.

Command Promotion Despite the availability of countless experienced Jod officers, Yavscout was placed in command of the Delicate Delinquent with the task of getting her trained as a fighting ship within about a month, with a view to reconnecting with the remainder of the Guardian Reliance Fleet.

---Personal History: Fress Colias was born on Alderaan. An unknown Force user killed her parents and Master Windu saved her. With nowhere to go, the Jedi took her in and raised her. There she discovered her talent for love of flying and was chosen as Mace Windu’s padawan learner. She left the path of the Jedi when she fell in love. They got a transfer to Anakin Skywalker’s flagship where she served as a Commander in charge of Blue Squadron. Darin Cora served as a Lieutenant and Deuce.
---Military History: Served in the clone wars as a commander to a Flight of star fighters. Ground and undercover missions. Hand to hand combat.
---Served in CorSec Intelligence for ten years before joining the Mercs.
---Traumatic Experiences: Fress Colias was in love with Darin Cora on the front lines forcing her to leave her position as Mace Windu’s padawan learner. A year later she fell into a set trap set by Dooku in order to force her to call off the attack. Dooku killed her fiancé when Darin gave Fress verbal permission to allow Dooku to kill him refusing to be used as a bargaining chip. She unknowingly miscarried their child two weeks later.
Fress watched as the clone troopers cut down the Jedi in front of her. She was a friend with a few of them and it broke her heart to see this happen. Ahsoka Tano shoved her spare lightsaber into Fress’s hands with her dying breath warning her not to allow anyone to know she had it on her. Fress tried to refuse but Ahsoka insisted it would come in handy later on.
Palpatine declared Fress an immediate threat to the Imperials because she refused to join them. She went underground assuming an alias by the name of Kasha Sherland and faked her death.
One year after joining CorSec Intelligence, Fress was called on by Bail Organa to find Leia after a well-known slaver kidnaps Leia and attempts to sell her on the black market. Fress and her partner track Leia down in a slave market and to insure Leia’s safety Fress trades herself in Leia’s place.
Fress is sold before CorSec is able to send the money to buy her freedom. She attempts to free the collar off her neck but is zapped into unconscious. When she comes too, Hal and Rostek Horn have tracked her down but she finds out the person who bought her did the unthinkable to her while she was unconscious. They arrest the man and place him in prison.
Fress forces the man to sign over full custody to her. She gives birth to a son nine months later and gives him up for adoption in hopes he can be safe if they didn’t know who the mother was. Secretively kept in contact with the parents and received updates on how Brice is fairing.
When Brice turns ten their paths cross in a park and Brice is told everything about his background and heritage.
Until the day they were free from the Imperials, she could no longer assume her real name.

    Since joining the Mercs

During her first mission with the Mercs Fress encounters an unknown species while rescuing Rebels who went silent. A sergeant called Greenscout betrays them all to the Empire thinking it was a different government.
Despite Fress warning them it was a trap and would most likely end up in a body bag, they refused to listen to reason.
Fress manages to complete the mission by grabbing the data pad and her bag of weapons when a firefight breaks out between the Imperials and the rebel traitors.
She opens the bag and sees Ahsoka’s lightsaber sitting on top of the other weapons she brought with her. Taking a deep breath she takes the lightsaber out and uses to deflect blaster bolts and frees her fellow Mercs and Rebels who were unaware of the betrayal from their comrades.
After making the jump to light speed, they were intercepted by the Sword of Justice who turned out to be interested in the data pad as well. Knowing there was something on the data pad Fress hides it in a secret locked compartment only a Jedi could unlock.
During their examination in the medward she was forced by Jod Intelligence to reveal her real name when the captain enquired about it.
She asks the Captain not to allow her fellow Mercs to know the truth about her past. A Lieutenant ignored the request and called Fress by her name confusing her fellow Mercs. She discovered it didn’t matter about her past, that they would protect her the best they could. She knew it was just a matter of time before word reaches back to the Imperials.
After rejoining the Johnny Boy she discovered that Rex had given up her alias to Jod Intelligence in hopes of making contact with her. He brought Saber along knowing she would need him when they enquired X-wings.
Fress took charge of the project assembling half a dozen x-wings in three hours by forming different teams based on their skills and knowledge. Shortly after Taller realized the skills she possessed while flying and having leadership skills was eventually promoted to Flight Lieutenant and Deuce to Havah Jeth for training others in flight simulators.
After meeting Kasumi and agreeing to be her padawan learner and finishing what she started with Mace Windu just over twenty years ago. She slowly reopens herself to the Force and her training slowly comes flooding back but there is still much for her to learn under Kasumi’s guidance.
During an ambush by Imperials she takes over two flight as Jason Lasso nearly kills himself. Due to his reckless behaviour she threatened to skin him alive if Taller failed to do so for his actions.
Fress chases off half a dozen of TIE fighters aimed to destroy the Johnny Boy and sends a telepathic message to the lead fighter to tell Vader Hi Ani for her and if he turned back now she would let him live. She has no clue if he lived long enough to deliver the message or not.
During the mission to the Block to rescue prisoners, they were taken in before they had a chance to start the mission. Someone on the Johnny Boy is trickling information to Soal before about the mission. Their cover was blown before they started the mission. After killing the troopers and securing armor for walking around the station in, Jason and Kasumi disappear as she and Jeth run across two clone troopers who she recognized working with personally during the Clone Wars. Wolf and Cody help her and Jeth to secure the bridge.
After they completed the mission, Jason and Kasumi both disappeared. She sent out a distress signal to the Johnny Boy which caused the Corvette to be severally damaged by getting attacked. After the Imperials left the evacuated the prisoners off the ship and were called into a meeting where they learned Soal had their families located and threatened to kill them if the Mercs did not stand down. Some left and most of the Mercs stayed.
Fress hoped that the Imperials never got their hands on her only son Brice. If they did, all it would take was a simple blood test to connect her and Brice together. Her alias was in jeopardy of being blown wide open.

Streets came in and told Jeth he was going to be promoted to Wing Commander and she was being promoted to Squadron Leader. She knew it was a matter of time before she enquired a higher tank as soon as it became more permanent. She only joined the Mercs to be a pilot. She didn’t think Squadron Leader was in reach but things had changed quickly since she joined. Now she was next in line.

During a training session and confronting a Corellian Freighter, she begins to get suspicious that Jeth had fallen asleep behind the stick. She pipes in an annoying song and forces the droid to wake up Jeth. Shortly after they’re called to the Sword of Justice where she is placed in charge of the Free web defence as they make their way through the Northern stretch. Fress successfully leads the web with minimal loss when they’re being chased by the Gettysburg. They enter an ion storm finding themselves at the Planet of Exiles. They are currently exploring the complex to gain answers as to what happened to everyone.

    The Force
    ---Sensitivity: None

---Personal History: Havah grew up as one of seven children, son of Kir, a scientist who works on the main board of the Arkanian Dominion. As this took most of their father’s time they were left to their mother, when she was available, and more often than not to servants to be raised. Some of the servants were of course qualified bodyguards and pilots incase they had to be moved suddenly, and from these he learned many techniques on how to fight and pilot at a young age as they would often use these lessons and training sessions as a way to keep the children busy and out of trouble. As a result, Havah became an adept pilot and fighter at a young age, and as he grew older his skills, with the continued and varied tutelage of the guards and servants, improved. Although he was more of one to break then fix items he had had to learn a good bit about repairing items as even though his parents didn’t mind replacing things, although his caretakers whose wages were docked until the items were fixed or replaced certainly did.

When he came of age of decision it was plane to everyone that the first male born to Kir was not to be a scientist, but instead a fighting instrument, and so he was enlisted into the Arkanian Black Guard. It was there that he increased his talents to a polished sheen, but the pay and job was terrible if one was not idealistically driven by the missions and goals of the group. So when the option became available at twenty five to leave honorably he did, and took what inheritance and wages he had saved to upgrade his ship and droid, and headed out to find new employ.

Not too long later he met the leader of The Mercs, Captain Rick Taller. Although it took a bit of persuasion and a demonstration of his abilities, and reassurances that he wasn’t an undercover agent. The Captain eventually agreed to let him join The Mercs, and he has served loyally ever since. While the constantly shifting ranks and the never-ending proximity to death is familiar and of a hue that one cannot endure forever, he doubts he could ever give up the lifestyle until it either forces him free of it, or it takes it completely. But at least in this field the pay is better and one isn’t bound by anything more than honor and kinship.

Or so he thought, soon the filtering of new leaders, added dead, and deserters left Havah somehow inexplicably at the top of the roster. Needless to say he did not handle it well and the bottle looked more attractive than usual as the dead added up, deserters left, and he. . .despite being the leader now didn’t die. Whatever motion of the forces of life that made his life what it was either were personally hating him or simply desired an outlet for more masochistic tendencies.

A feeling that grew as missions continued, he lived, he drank, and lived. Others didn’t drink and died, if he was one to quiet for no good reason that was the most tempting. The Jod hired them, revealed they had payed through others for most of the more dangerous missions that got others killed and soon Taller had the Mercs working for them. Whatever the deal was he hoped it was enough money to allow him to either never be sober or get drunk and then frozen for a few decades. Maybe the machine would malfunction.

Sent alone on a mission with the Jod after he learned the Empire had his sister, who blamed him for her failed security, he helped them retake a passage-way station that had a rogue AI she had developed and a few droids he wished had changed their minds about coming with him. Still life went on, he threatened the twerp that met the returning shuttle that bore the marks of intelligence. . .well actually a severe lack. Got interrupted, let off some steam with a non-fatal duel with a guy that offered his head if it would make him feel better, and then got stunned and tossed in a brig. Without alcohol, his flute, nor a knife to end the suffering of forced detox. Well at least he wasn’t drying out because he quit, now if only the memories would stop.

---Military History: Upon turning fifteen he joined the military with his father’s connections he was able to go through intensive training for next three years as a pilot and Elite Squad combat training. Ten years with the Arkanian Black Guard Elite Squads and eight years of service with The Mercs, in both fighter squadrons and covert ops stations.

---Traumatic Experiences: Havah’s second to last mission was to eliminate a traitorous cell to the Arkanian Dominion, only slightly out of the ordinary from their regular pirate and outlaw mission profiles. The mission went without a hitch as he flew air support until the fleet was able to block off the main escape route. Once that was established he landed and joined his team in breaching the final layers of defenses to the bunker, but what surprised him most was when they finally reached their targets, him using his Stokhli Spray stick to trip up the fleeing individuals before a shot was put in the back of the skull. When one body was rolled over for identification to his surprise, and to his horror, he recognized the man that he had brought down as his little brother. Although he has lost many good friends and comrades over the years, and while he never shows it, each of them weighs heavily on him, each having left their own scar in his mind and heart. He feels particularly guilty about his brother’s death, a death brought by his own hands, which still haunts him to this day. Guilt over his sisters abduction and wounding by the Empire.

---Personal History: The only thing that Josch knew about his biological parents was that his father was a warrior and his mother was a member of the Royal Court in Maz-Verlin on Vernet. His parents left him in the care of Scath Foumi, the protector of the Royal Family. Scath had once been a Jedi Knight in the days of the Republic, but left the Order because of several of the council’s rules that he did not agree with. Scath returned to Vernet to reassume the role of royal protector.

Josch’s parents knew of the political unrest on Vernet and did not want their son to become a victim. So they gave him to Scath who sensed his connection to the Force. As Josch grew up under the watchful eye of Scath, who encouraged his free spirited nature, he was allowed to follow his own destiny. Josch spent most of his time as any other youth would on Vernet.

He learned the arts of farming, hunting, and wilderness survival. Since Scath spent most of his time in the court, where Josch’s parents did not want their son, Josch was taught by the different clansmen from the Clans of the Four Trees. Essentially Josch did not have parents; he had a group of mentors that he learned under.

Scath took him to Kashyyyk, there he was taught basic techniques in the Force, including how to sense if someone was steeped in the dark side. Scath knew that this would keep Josch safe from being influenced by the ease and seductiveness of that path. Josch learned to understand Shryiiwook from living among the Wookiees for many years. When the Clone Wars found its way to the Wookiee's homeworld, Scath moved Josch to the otherside of the planet away from the battle.

When Order 66 was issued, Josch witnessed the effect of the simultaneous executions on Scath. They ended up going to live on the forest floor amongst the wild flora and fauna. Scath realized that he needed to get back to Vernet to protect the Royal House. He also realized that if he brought Josch with him he increased his risk of being discovered by the Empire. So instead he left him in the care of a Jedi, Kento Marek, which was in hiding on the planet with his wife and small son. Josch has not seen his ‘father’ since.

The Jedi there taught him the delicate art of fighting with lightsabers. He fashioned the hilts of his sabers utilizing a fallen branch of one of the Great Trees. His teacher used the ferocious forest floor as a rite of passage for Josch. But his time on Kashyyyk was coming to a close. The Empire, that Scath had hoped to protect Josch from by leaving him there, had discovered Kento and was on a mission to execute him. Josch felt the dark disturbance in the Force and once again hid on the forest floor.

He used the assumed name of Xan Zieleb to cover up any trail he might be leaving behind. The Chrono Thief was a modified YT-1760 small transport run by two brothers and six hired deckhands. They ran between the Centrality, Hapan Cluster, Hutt Space, Allied Tion Sector, the Tion Hegemony, the Cronese Mandate, and Tatooine, where Josch eventually purchased R2-N6 and the Arrow of Light.

After purchasing the starfighter he left the smuggling crew. The first leg of his independent journey took him to Ryloth to fulfill a promise to an old friend. Along the way he explained the origins and history of the Erphae to R2-N6. Once on Ryloth he assumed the false identity of Jamac Xan, a wealthy upperclass sentient looking for a Twi'lek servant girl.

In reality he was looking to free T’keala Saresh, the niece of one of his former crewmates. The duo took a luxury liner to Naboo, where T’keala was given a new identity and Josch received a message from his ‘father’. The end of his journey landed him on the forest moon of Endor. The trees reminded him of his birthworld so he befriended an Ewok named Logray.

Josch felt a kinship with the taller than normal sentient because of Lograys slight Force sensitivity. The other Ewoks of the Bright Tree Village thought that Josch was a demigod sent to watch over them. This new found popularity was only a game to Josch, feeding into his joking personality. During his time there he met Kasumi

While living there he also befriended an Endorian Ferret that he named Fidget, because the creature could not sit still. He was once again forced to leave his home by the dark side. When the Empire was searching for a location to finish their second Death Star, Josch was told by his Ewok friends of a scouting crew that was poking around the moon. Josch knew he would have to leave Endor, or risk being discovered. Before the Empire started landing troops around his home, Josch snuck out of the system in his Dunelizard fighter.

Upon leaving Endor, Josch jumped into the middle of a space battle between the Empire and MERC Fighter-Interceptor Squadron over the planet of Droxu. It was in that instant that he decided, instead of continuing to run, it was time to fight for his survival. He realized that hiding himself in a secluded sector was not the solution for survival against the Empire. Instead he decided to hide himself amongst a crowd, as a part of the mercenary group struggling against the Empire.

He was immediately assigned as the wingman of the MERCs' One Flight Leader, and used the alias of Zieleb-Xan Macja. With the help of Navi, he weaved his way through the battle and escaped on the Johnny Boy. The entire group was given a short rest period before being thrown into yet another battle. Josch learned that the Empire had ceased actively hunting Jedi and was selected to be trained by Jedi Master Alexander Zat, who was acting as a liason to the MERCs.

In their next mission Josch was assigned, along with LTC Streets and PO Cradmoon (whom he had just had a romantic encounter with), to fly support for the ‘ground mission’ assaulting a weapons manufacturing facility called the Block. Shortly after jumping onto station they were tracked there by the Imperials they had just fled from over Droxu. Both he and Streets fell victim to the ion cannon of one of the ISDs.

Eventually the ISDs were driven off and Josch was able to limp back to the Johnny Boy. Unfortunately the Marauder-class corvette was severely damaged and Josch was ordered to report to the Authority to provide additional combat training to PO Cradmoon. However, their training time was cut short and Josch was reassigned to the Delicate Delinquent in the process he was promoted to Flight Lieutenant.
