    What planets will we see?!

In the trailer we saw Yavin IV, and the Death Star also kinda counts too. So there's that!

But what other planets will we see? New planets? Old planets? It's so exciting!

So far in the Rogue One teaser, we saw at least three - but possibly four - planetary bodies/ moons.

    Yavin IV:

A tropical planet with an Imperial facility on it:

A rocky, mossy planet that looks like Iceland:

An urban, sandy planet (which may or may not be the same as the tropical planet):

I would really love Alderaan to appear in this film...even if it's just at the end. I think seeing it will add emotional impact when we see it destroyed in ANH

Besides for Yavin 4, I think these are all going to be new planets.

Desert city planet I think will be the location of the first major action sequences. Felicity and company try to save the rebel pilots that were shown as being captured perhaps?

Tropical beach planet will probably be the setting for the first battle if I had to guess. Ends up in a loss, but they get away with information that leads them to the whereabouts of the actual plans.

These whereabouts are the planet that look like its filmed in Iceland, and the location we saw the least of in the trailer, which I think is on purpose if the climax battle takes place on this planet. This is where the rebels win their first victory, but its also where Vader shows up amd wrecks shop. Makes sense too if those Death Troopers are his personal detail, since they appear on this location in the trailer, looking as if they are guarding something or on patrol.

    Coruscant
    Felucia
    Mygeeto
    Polis Masa

Most of these I doubt will actually show up though :(

Going by the old canon, the planet Toprawa should be prominent towards the third act of the film, if not earlier. I don't know if that planet's name survived the transition into the newcanon, however.

Actually, I'm not counting / expecting that Rogue One will show the Alliance getting hold of the Death Star plans as suggested by the original radio drama.

So Toprawa might not be in Rogue One. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Toprawa

I just notice that nobody to my knowledge has yet attempted to puzzle the behind the scenes shots together to perhaps provide a bigger picture.

Here we have three images of what's apparently from the beach planet location.

Top: In the center we have what looks like an Imperial amphibious assault vehicle (or FO troop carrier from TFA). I'm not sure whether it will be part of the "Kylo Ren" type shuttle that gets blown up in the trailer. The entire area looks like a landing site, this impression is further enhanced by the Star Wars equipment to the right.

Middle: On the left side we have what apparently is sort of a tripod (transmitter?) thingy.

Bottom: Close-up view of the thingy.

The exclusive presence of stormtroopers with no signs of battle damage could suggest that's how the Rogue One team arrives, somehow disguised.

There's no chance that desert planet isn't Tatooine. No chance. :p

Maybe not, but the Kalamith Sector will be featured either in Rogue One or Episode 8.

The dusty planet with the town could actually be Ord Mantell.

I still hope we get to see Coruscant somewhere in this film, or at least the Imperial Senate. We have confirmation about a Senator character, so it's a possibility.

The urban planet with domes and high walls could now be Onderon.

Yep! The architecture from the limited shots we've seen is reminiscent.

It makes sense if Saw Gerrera is still operating on Onderon.

The sandy, urban planet from the trailer does look enough like Onderon for that to be plausible. And now we learn that Whitaker's character is Saw Gerrera, a rebel from Onderon. And in the trailer, we see that Saw seems to be on that sandy, urban planet. So, I think there's a pretty decent chance that the sandy, urban planet is Onderon.

I'd love it if the sandy planet turned out to be Onderon. Maybe Jyn and the crew go there to recruit Saw and his band of rebels.

Not necessarily for you Darth Nave  But can anyone be bothered to explain Onderon to me? I have picked up that it is a planet from Rebels or The Clone Wars...but I only ever watched a couple of episodes

    What's it like etc ?
