Rogue planet question

I am sorry if this was brought up before but i am fairly new to this. I am just reading rogue planet and was wondering if wilhuff tarkin and grand moff tarkin were the same person.

That's a good question. How do we know it's the same? I mean, I know it is, but how?

 

His name's been Wilhuff since Star Wars Screen Entertainment I think, or possibly earlier...

 

I think his name wilhuff shows up in visual dictionary as well.

ImAmTheDarkSide, you hit the nail on the head. Star Wars Screen Entertainment ( 1994 ) was indeed the first source to list his first name.

Also of note from SWSE - Beru is listed as "Beru Weth" before she married Owen. With AotC this would have to be retconned as her middle name, because in the movie she is known as Beru Whitesun. So her full maiden name would be Beru Weth Whitesun. Either that, or her last name is combined...Weth Whitesun.

And then later she would be Beru Weth Whitesun Lars.

 

I thought his first name appeared in the EGtG.
