Hey Folks,

If you want to go view all the floats close up after the parade here's the details:

They are on display from 1pm to 5pm.

Your best best is to go to one of the park and ride locations.

I need to know if we are going to help with the floats on Sunday at that same address or not?
And is everybody driving themselves to the place or are they carpooling? I am going to call in sick to work on Saturday. I am scheduled off on Sunday and Monday.

Here is the link to the pix I took yesterday while working on the float. I'm afraid of heights, yet my enthusiasm for all things SW is so great that I was able to get past that and work in the treetops of Endor. (the branches were too droopy. We had to fluff them up.) I was very proud of myself. I hurt like crazy today, but it's been great fun! Will load up on the Motrin and be there at 3:00am!

Whee, I saw a news story on the parade last night and I found out the VCR will, after all, work! So I can tape the parade!

We had a blast working on the floats last night. Little did I know that we were pulling a double shift that night. It was great watching the final touches go on the floats and watching them leave the building and get ready for the judges coming later in the morning. Lots of people, and Star Wars fans there. Took lots of photos, and video. Still don't know how to post them yet. The floats were absolutely beatiful, and when they started to play the music that was playing on each float, I could not help but become so overwhelmed with tears, I could hardly control myself. It was great. The whole experience was great.

 

Pics are coming. I'm dealing with the requests from LFL at the moment. Will get the up soon, I promise.

 

I have about 200 pics from the Post Parade Viewing. If you've got Snapfish I can send them to you to see! Not loading them to photobucket cos it took an age to load them to Snapfish which i've got 3 yrs worth of pics on now!

I'll send DH my pic of my in front of the Naboo float to add to the IEFF album.

Awsome meeting all of you and bonding over bits of Oasis Glue, Plant pieces, and heat lamps

Just got home...completely and totally exhausted...and still talking about the magic!!!

(Only thing...wouldn't let us use churros on the float. Common now..wheat and cinnamon and sugar are plant products!!!)

 

You forgot about bonding over "Obi-Wan needs a tissue"! I'm making a joke, but your stories touched and inspired me!!

thanks for all the great pics everyone! I didn't have a digital camera with me, so I haven't got the ones developed yet from when we worked on the float. Ryan was so cute, when he saw the float and your pics, he was like "those are my potatos on t.v.....I did those potatos". This was such a great opportunity!
