    Yub yub!

I pretty much voted for that one because I was so used to the original celebration song.

I'm abstaining from this vote, because I enjoy both pieces equally. I loved "Yub Nub" for so long, and got so used to it, that it was a shock not to hear it at the end of the Special Edition ROTJ. But the new instrumental version is very beautiful, one of my favourite new JW pieces of music in fact. It really does an excellent job of tying together the whole galaxy, and the feeling of hope and peace that that means.

I hereby move that the following poll be created:

ROTJ: Do you prefer Sly Snootles "Lapti Nek" or SE "Jedi Rocks" music?

I'd definitely be able to drop a vote there!

"Victory Celebration" from the SE. It ends the saga on a much more appropriate manner and it's one of my favorite cues from the film. "Yub Yub" is good for nostalgic reasons, but not much else, IMHO.

    Yub Yub!!

There's just something so...happy...and festive about that song. The John Williams version is more mellow, I would say. And it has children's voices in it, which I never like.

"The John Williams version is more mellow, I would say."

I'd just like to point out that John Williams composed both the original and the new celebration music. But he did have some help with "Yub Yub", as his son Joseph wrote the English lyrics and Ben Burtt wrote the Ewokese lyrics.

I like the Special Edition's ending better. I love how the flute sounds there.
A lot of people here voted "Yub Yub" because it was the "first" one...But what if it had been the other way round ? What if, back in 1983, John Williams had composed that celtic like music instead of Yub Yub ? And that Yub Yub had been the SE music ? People would go : "Ah, I hate this new music ! It sounds so dumb : Yub Yub, da ba da ba da ba da...Yub Yub...That doesn't mean anything !"

I feel that ROTJ is the endong chapter of the Saga now, but I don't get that feeling when I listen to my old disk (before the disks were all CD's...!). The celebration with Yub Yub is confined to Endor only. I thought : "good. And what comes next ?". Not with the SE. It is a perfect enfing music.

JEDIBYKNIGHT....true, true. But knowing that doesn't make what you feel any less true. Part of the reason why I like the Yub Yub song is for the nostalgia. I love nostalgia. I can't help myself!

Sorry, Son of the Suns, I didn't know that Williams composed the Yub Yub song. I learn something new every day....

I'm not a big fan of most of the SE's changes, but I do think the SE celebration music is more haunting and epic-sounding than "yub yub" and more appropriate overall. Let's face it, "yub yub" was fun if you were a kid when ROJ first came out, but it's just not very dignified music with which to end the entire saga.
