Yay for TTT! *dances around*
The LotR my 2nd favorite trilogy!
All three movies (two of which being the extended versions) in two nights. Not bad.
Not to bad at all!
The extended versions are much better than the originals.
Hooray for the Extended Editions!!! w00t! Are they being shown somewhere public? Sounds like it on here...
They are supposed to have a theater release sometime before the DVD release. Not sure on the specs though.
Does anyone recall if the HiDef version they are showing on TV (sometime soon, can't remember when...) is the extended version or the theatrical?
*sobs* why can't I get Starz?! *runs away in her sorrow*
Alas, the release is right about finals time. I'll be having to spend time studying instead of watching them all back to back to back.
At least I (kinda) understand when people talk about them now....
If you have any questions, there are quite a few of us here who are "experts" on Middle Earth. But you never said that you liked them, so I'm assuming you found them "lacking" in some way.
They were cool, just no Star Wars. In fact I was amazed by the SW references!
You mean LOTR reference in SW? Those books were around a long time before Lucas thought up SW...but those references are in all the good stories that stand the test of time.
Good analogy and very well said!
I think what he means is how the script and filmmaking had to deal with SW sometimes. For instance, Legolas taking out the Oliphant was like Luke taking out the AT-AT, from a certain point of view... Or when Theoden said "You already did" talking to Eowyn for the last time when she said "I have to save you." That scene just reeks of Luke and Darth Vader.
Two of the main ones I was thinking of!
Whoa... I never thought of it that way. The only similarity I saw was that Count Dooku and Saruman were played by the same actor. YAY for multi-tasking!
Well, here it is, the link to the trailer for the ROTK EE DVDs.
I cannot wait for this. This looks so freakin' AWESOME!!!!!
Okay... that Mouth of Sauron is genuinely freaky.
Yep, it's awesome. Very creepy.
The costuming and makeup for that movie... I still can't get over it.
I can't wait to see Saruman's death scene (and Grima too) even though they totally messed around with that and it happens at Orthanc.
Also, drinking games with elves and dwarves can't be anything but a good time, especially when there is farting involved.
Legolas looked so cute and confused!!!
