ROTS Midnight Screening Plans

Well, I haven't worked at Plymouth in a while, so it's possible that their presentation slipped a bit, or they had a bad day that day or something. It used to be top notch though. Our THX trailers used to shake the vents out of the ceiling in the manager's office!

But actually it's the accoustics of the auditoriums at Neshaminy that sucks, not the equipment. Those solid Torus screens don't help the echo problem either. But it is a popular theater though I guess, so if you like it, well, have fun!

We're lucky at Painters Crossing. Our biggest theater (#9) doesn't have an echo problem hardly at all. Some of the smaller ones have a little bit of an issue though! We're hoping folks will come sell us out too!

I hope the Giant screen showing does not messup the quality of the picture
I wonder about that too. There's only so much resolution on 35mm, and you can blow it up as much as you want, but eventually it will start to look like its been blown up. Considering this was shot digitally, 1) you're starting with less resolution than you'd have if he shot it with 35mm film (which will hurt), and 2) there's no film grain from the negative (which will help). So I'd like to see how this looks on the IMAX screen.

I usually end up going out to see movies at Edgemont Square. Of course I have to drive real fast past the Coldstone place before I'm tempted to stop in.

I moved here from Colorado. However I was living in New Haven CT last time a SW movie came out.

Thanks for the feed back reguarding the local theaters. I am sure I will visit more than one of them to see ROTS.

Well, tickets at Painters Crossing are selling slowly for now. Probably because most people don't think we'll run a midnight since we're usually not open late. I have 44 people coming with me to the midnight show. My brother and I and probably some of his friends will be at the theater all day waiting in line. I'll be in full Jedi costume complete with custom built lightsaber! I can't wait.

I'm wondering... Some of you guys and gals who will be lining up at other theaters, do you have anything planned to pass the time? Star Wars trivial pursuit maybe? Watching the other films on a portable TV? Or will you just hang in line all day? Or are you planning to show up at the last minute?

 

ROTS was Awesome!!! I can't wait to see it again!!

 

So, the plans are to meet around 6:30 to 7, then eat at Manny Brown's, then hop into line??

Should we try and get there earlier for a better spot in line?

 

Eh, waiting in line is ok. Since we're in Theatre 1, we should be able to get in early. I won't be able to get there until 6:30 at the earlier, b/c I won't get home from work until 5-5:30.

You know it Joe. I'm so psyched, I can't wait anymore. I just watched the Musical Journey DVD, it's just driving me nuts the wait. I also bought my tix for the three showings I'm gonna do after midnight. Four showings in the span of almost 48 hours...I'm such a geek.

 

What is our itinerary?

 

Arrive and meet outside Manny Brown's at 7pm on 5/18

Eat and enjoy drinks until 9-9:30pm.

Get in line until we're called to go in.


I think thats a decent itinerary to say the least.


As for my four showing...
5/18 - Midnight
5/19 - Noon
5/19 - 7:45pm
5/20 - 8:30pm

 

I might get their a little earlier, I wanna check out the line. I refuse to have a crappy seat like I did for AOTC.

 

So, I guess I'll have to hang in the underaged section, lol..

Anyone else brainwashing their children? My daughter is taking Thursday off so she can go with me Wednesday Night.

We should be in line around 9ish, maybe earlier. Don't want bad seats & I expect it will be packed. As I haven't met any of you crazy Philly FF-ers yet, any of you gonna be in costume?

Ditto on the Musical Journey DVD! I've been running it. I think the fact that it is the last movie is starting to sink in.

 

I don't think any of us will be in costume, Soccerdad. However, I will be wearing my Fan Force shirt, I'm sure that the others will be doing so as well. Although since Tim is now famous, he may come in his Obi-Wan costume.

 

I've spoken to Tim's publicist. He will arrive in a limo, escorted by 6 coppertone models and a dwarf with a cowboy hat.

 

Nice! That'll be quite the sight to see.

As discussed at the meeting;

We will be meeting at 6:30PM at the theater (Neshaminy 24). We will proceed to Manny Brown's for a bite to eat and then hop in the line.
