They would have turned Grevious into spare parts in ten seconds flat, and Palpatine would have had to wait for them to come back to resume his seduction of Anakin. Unfortunitely for him, Anakin would have been promoted to Master, learned how to save Padme, figured out who Palpatine was, and kicked his butt.
