Oceania Rove Live!!!

Even though I live in New Zealand this is one of my favourite shows on television. I watch it every week and love it.

So I just thought I'd make a thread about it...I tried the search button to see if there was a thread here about it.....but we all know the search button is useless.

Yeah i'm another Kiwi who quite likes his show, better than anything over here on a friday night

 

Rove's a bit hot and cold. Sometimes he's good, and other times he doesn't know when to shut up. He's not as good at interviews as Denton, for example, but most of his other stuff is pretty good. Helliar is the find of the show however...

Funny how his main gag is miss-pronouncing peoples names.
Wait...did I say funny? I meant 'pathetic'.

 

Rove's politics leave a little to be desired, I find.

I didn't see it. What was the gist?

 

While I was in Brisbane it was the only show worth watching.

 

It was just really awkward, with very bland, generic statements.

 

Yeah, I can see that. His condemnation of whatever that guy's name who came out of the BB house with the "Free the refugees" sign was hideous.

"OMG he wouldn't answer lovely Gretel's lovely questions!!! What kind of an idiot is he?!?! OMG!!!"

 

At least he got Chris's debut album name right last week.

 

Well he can't be blamed for the show for the next few weeks. Poor guy.

 

Yes, it is all rather saddening For those of you not in the know, Belinda Emmett, Rove's wife, died yesterday.


Not that I particularily watch the show, but I wonder how long it will stay off air? To my mind it would be very hard to keep up that kind of energy when going through grief...

 

I heard about it yesterday and read it in the paper. It's quite sad. Poor guy indeed.

The show's off the air for the rest of the year, so the entire season basically. It's stated on his website for the curious.

 

The show has only lost a few weeks, it would have wrapped shortly when ratings season finishes.

I'm not a Rove fan but it is a tragedy.

 

Poor Rove.

I always liked Belinda, she went to my school. Not while I was there of course.

 

Apologies, I meant the rest of the series like you've said, not the whole thing.

 

It would have been nice if Peter Hellier took to the helm, but not to worry, TO NEXT YEAR!

Oh and not to give it any less significance, yes it is sad that Belinda passed away, Funniest Home Videos was never the same after she left.

Was she ever on there?

 

I thought she was host, or am I getting my shows mixed up?
