    Will the United States recognise Meghan Markle's title, if she becomes a Duchess*? Doesn't the Constitution prohibit this or will Congress, finally, once again start building statues of Royals?

    *She will probably have to renounce her US citizenship.

    Downing Street have said the wedding will not be a bank holiday. I, and everyone else in Britain, no longer care about this wedding. If I am going to pay for this, and not be invited, I at least want a day off work.

    Not sure if she would have to renounce her citizenship - US nationals can have dual citizenship with certain countries. UK is one of them.

    It's still a royal wedding.

    Incorrect. The Constitution forbids the United States (or individual states) from granting such titles. By statute, foreigners must give up foreign titles when being naturalized. However, nothing prevents U.S. citizens from inheriting or being granted foreign titles and they have done so since the earliest years of the republic.
