The Duke of Edinburgh (Prince Philip) has been admitted to hospital for planned hip surgery tomorrow.

At 96 he's getting up there in years. I hope there aren't complications.

I like how you have to explain who the Duke of Edinburgh is. I mean, to us - we have the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme, he's widely known, but to the Yanks, who have no meaningful heritage, there's sure to be confusion. "Why hasn't he done called King?" they ask, in the best English they can manage.

The Crown does not do his racism justice though. Just putting it out there.

I wish they were like the Wattos. Getting my Silver would have been more meaningful.

Hip surgery renders him unfit to attend his grandson's wedding to a mixed race American. Sneaky.

True that. For both Bronze and Silver, we had to do a week long bushwalk. The Army Cadet Corps had it worse, they had a week in a different area in those terrible hootchie tents marching every day. We got to cover a long distance and then, being teenage boys, ruin train commuter's lives by travelling back smelling like sweat and dirt. God being privileged was great.

5 years ago I was there for George's birth. Lovely spot, that hospital. Nice, postwar buildings on an otherwise unremarkable street. Love Paddington.

Harry and Meghan are off to Australia soon. Can't wait to see Ender protesting their arrival.

Hmm, so should tragedy strike, there could be a King Arthur.

It's possible but probably farfetched. I think the new baby would be fifth in line to the throne.

If there were some out of all likelihoods event where Harry (as sixth in line) became King you'd get something worse than "Queen Camilla"

You'd have King Henry IX and Queen Meghan.

At least divorce would be the least of this King Henry's worries.

    Camilla won't automatically become Queen.

No automatic is not how it would happen.

The Monarch (Charles or his choice of styling " George") can make her Queen.
