    Did they do that sort of thing back when Harry was born? I know they didn't for William-Charles and Diana kept debating if he was going to be William or Arthur, and it took several days before he got a full proper name.

    Thrawn1786 -- Yep, that's been the traditional way for a while now. It'll be interesting though because all this up to date hyper rapid info dissemination will still have to wait for an eyeball to read that easel.

    Ender_Sai -- most people have been treating me with incredulity as I monitor the situation, although the host of a baby naming ceremony thing that I went to today specifically gave me permission to check for status updates during that thing so at least he has his head on straight.

    I hope they give it a ****ed up celebrity baby name. Like if it's a boy, they can call it 'Pin' and if it's a girl, they can call it 'Bee'.

    I. Of course you are, being a petit Jacobin and all.

    II. His/her mother is English, his/her grandmother was English, and his/her great-great-grandmother was Scottish. Yes, his/her royal forebears are of German descent, as are his/her great-grandfather and great-great-great grandmother --- but his/her ancestry is far from exclusively German at this point.
