Kwea saw Kronos roll away as she was in midair. His lightsaber went into defense and she knew he would try to swing at her unprotected legs. Swiftly ending her jumps, she tucked her legs in close to her torso and rolled away from him and summoned the Force, shooting lightning in his direction.

Out in the arena, Jwob wanted to cheer for Ravenous. He made sounds as best he could. They just sounded like gurgling. Then he lamented Ravenous feasting on his throat earlier in the day. All he could do is lay on the ground and wave his remaining arm in support of the Wookiee. And Kronos.

His reflexes had proven to be an asset during fights. It was probably how he survived a prolonged battle with Haretisch. But, Kwea's were also fast. She had rolled out of the way just in time to dodge his low attack. She had then sent a barrage of Force Lightning in his direction, probably intending on electrocuting him to death, or maybe just turning him into literal ash.

That would not be happening.

When you have the power to conjure up Force Lightning yourself, you would probably have the abilities to defend it as well. Well, you would want to, anyway. Extremely powerful Jedi had learned to do this, so he assumed it wouldn't be too hard when training. He had spent months trying to perfect the power to the best of his ability, considering his power level. He still had some work to do. If he did this, it would leave him partially drained, which could put him in danger for attack. And if he had decided to use his lightsaber, there wouldn't be any possible way to send it back at her. At least, not from what Kronos could see. He was hoping that he could catch her off guard and hit her that way.

He rose his hands in a defensive stance, bracing himself for the impact, and shutting off his lightsaber. Once it hit, he absorbed it into a ball, slightly sending backwards. His feet dragged in the sandy ground, making prints as it did so.

He looked at Kwea, and sent the ball of lightning back at her.

Then he was drained, though only a bit. Kwea would need to be fast to get the move on him.

Would she be fast enough?

IC: Darth Manticore
Arena

The contest between the tow sith, Darth Anark and Darth Ravenous continued in earnest. Advantages were gained and lost within the same turn, strengths and weaknesses both were exploited. Tactics were brought to bear, as well as cunning, misdirection and trickery.

"The wookiee relies predominately on his natural strength. That could backfire. Though the human seems to focus a lot on flanking in unorthodox ways, especially using an extra person to help. If his focus falters even slightly, the wookiee will cleave him in half. Nearly stretching himself thin in the Force; do you agree?"

Darth Invidius spoke verbalized his estimation of the battle, and though he did not turn his head to regard him, Manticore responded in turn.

“A good observation. Though feral by nature, Ravenous is a warrior with a plan, who plays to his strengths. By contrast, Anark relies on cunning and randomness, which helps him to surprise his enemy and keeps him from being too easily read by his opponent; however, as you pointed out, he runs the greater risk of making a mistake in combat.”

The introduction of the Jawa was an unexpected surprise, but an important one in the field of combat, where anything could change the tide of battle.

*Krrraack*

That was the sound of a knee shattering.

Manticore smirked at the sheer vehemence and passion exhibited by both contestants. Anark and Ravenous were indeed worthy additions to the sith, deserving of their ascension.

“Pain. Those eager to inflict it, should never be too faint to receive it in kind.”

Manticore said in measured tones.

“There is power in pain, if you know how to use it.”

Needless to say, the zabrak High Lord spoke from personal experience.

All around them, the darkside crested as the battle intensified, and before a clear victor became apparent…

“ENOUGH!!!”

Darth Heratisch’s lightly spoken words reverberated throughout the arena, bringing a halt to all combat, be it sith, or beast.

"Long have you fought, much have you bled, and we'll have you represented the glorious Sith Empire. Both of you," the Night Herald gestured, then nodded to both Ravenous and Anark.

"But now, this clash of wills and wisdom and power is at an end. The triumvirate is in agreement. We declare Darth Anark the winner."

The Sith Battlemaster raised an eyebrow, quite curious.

A pause.

The Night Herald continued.

"And also do we declare Darth Ravenous. Two victors. Both have brought honor to the Empire. And so will both of you be honored in turn. By the will of the Triumvirate, under my own authority, as well as that of the peerless Emperor, and the wise and beautiful Dawn Herald, I confer upon you both, the title and rank of Underlord of the Sith Empire."

From inside his black hood, Lord Manticore nodded his agreement.

“Indeed. A victory well deserved.”

Although the contest between Anark and Ravenous concluded in mutual victory, it seemed the festivities were not quite over at the Arena.

IC: Kwea

Kronos shut off his lightsaber and absorbed the lightning into a ball, throwing it back at her. Kwea nimbly rose and angled her lightsaber to deflect the ball back to him.
She hoped this wouldn't end up like a child's game of ball but you could never tell with Sith. Some of the weirdest stuff happened with them.

Kwea had deflected the ball of lightning easily, sending it back at him with little to no effort. Meanwhile, on his end, he was already beginning to feel the strain of what he did. He needed to suck it up.

Using even more strength end energy, Kronos lunged out of the way, allowing the ball of lightning to smash against the arena walls.

Now, he needed a counterattack. As he was still on the ground, he silently and secretly rose his hand, and pulled parts of the arena walls out, yanking them at Kwea.

Kronos dodged the ball of lightning and it hit the arena walls.

Kwea heard a noise and turned in time to see parts of the walls coming at her. She clenched her jaw. Kwea focused on the pieces of the walls and Force Pushed them back so that they fell to the ground.

Kwea was vulnerable. She was too occupied on defending herself from the debris. He had a chance, and he needed to take it immediately.

As his strength and energy was returning to him, he stood up, putting all of his concentration into the Force. He aimed it at her legs, planning to pull them backward, causing her to trip.

He pulled back against her legs.

If the plan was successful, she would fall down, leaving her the most vulnerable. He reignited his lightsaber, and started moving towards her, his speed increasing with every step he took.

*hurries downstairs to fetch more popcorn*

 

IC: Kwea

"****!" Kwea growled.

She knew she shouldn't have left her back open but now she was on the ground, Kronos having pulled her legs out from under her with the Force. He was approaching her quickly now, ready to strike. Kwea rolled over to face him, catspringed up, and brought her lightsaber up in a defensive stance in front of her.

*returns with a fresh bag full, and nearly drops it in amazement*

The Emperor of the Stars himself, coming in to battle? This is going to be a true spectacle! *sits back down with a wicked grin*

Kronos had been successful in his attack. Kwea was completely caught off guard, and sent flat on her back. Perhaps he could turn the fight around in his favor.

Just as soon as he was going to slash down at her with all of his strength, Insipid's voice boomed throughout the arena, putting the fight to a halt. Kronos immediately drew back his weapon, allowing Kwea to stand up. He moved farther from her. He expected her to be angry after the stunt he tried to pull.

There was a new objective, anyway. First one to cut the Emperor won the Apprentice.

He readied himself.

Ic: Kwea

Kwea was shocked when the Emperor challenged them to cut him in order to get the apprentice.
She stood tall, shoulders squared, head high, feet spread in a grounded stance. Her jaw was clenched still, she knew she could die trying to fight the Emperor and she certainly couldn't bear the embarrassment of backing down. She glanced at Kronos and raised a brow. He was ready. Her hands trembled as she gripped her saber hilt.

Her hand flew up suddenly and Force pulled at the bottle. Kwea ripped her hand down so it hung at her side. Her eyes were wide in surprise. Kwea didn't know what had happened. Then she felt it creeping into her mind. Anger.

IC: Darth Syren

As the newly anointed Darth Diaboli sat down, Syren was startled awake. How had she dozed off? Perhaps it was that Arkanian Sweet Milk she had swiped from Kwea... Shaking way the grogginess, she looked about. Taking notice of the Emperor himself in the arena, engaging both Kwea and Kronos, the apprentice was snapped back to attention.

"Looks like I missed something," she whispered to Diaboli mischievously. This would certainly be entertaining...

Oh no, this battle is just beginning! I can hardly wait... That Gungan is really lucky, having two Sith Masters AND the Emperor duelling over him!

The Emperor crooked his finger and the bottle cracked, spraying alcohol around. Kwea brought her left hand up to protect her eyes from the glass and alcohol. What the hell had she been thinking. No. she hadn't thought. She had only acted.
