This would probably be better done instead of a meet. RPGs take nothing if lots of time. Even just getting everyone set up with characters and explaining things those new to it would take the better part of a day...if you're lucky. :D

Looks like we found the October meet.

Reasons to have it in October:
    1) Eric will be there
    2) We have nothing else planned
    3) We could easily forget about this if we put it off too long

What do ya'll think about that?

We could start in October and make it a Play By Email thing. There're ways to do that. Or we could use our chatroom for it on a weekly basis.

Yeah, but from what I hear- D&D is a good way to learn.
Actually, screw this, lets just make King Richards Faire the October meet.

IMHO (and i speak from experience) the white wolf system is MUCH easier to learn on than the D&D system. i can bring my vampire or werewolf books and teach yous guys if you like. :D

or we could always make KRF the meet, which i am ALL for :D

EDIT: LOL mara 3-cornered hat, i just read that. :p

I don't mean to leave this RPing session in the dust, but we can do this any time. Lets just do this as a non-meet.

For those debating whether to do D&D or SWRPG...If you're planning on newest D&D (ie 3rd Edition) it's almost the exact same system as SWRPG. So it doesn't really matter.
Another thing to keep in mind is that RPGs generally work well with a group of players 4-8 or so. Unless you have a really experienced person running the game.

I would prefer the SWRPG. But I'd give D&D a chance if you guys were there. I still want to try the AOTC CCG, or maybe the LOTR one.

Yeah, D&D 3e and SWRPG both use the D20 system. The basic rules are nearly the same from what I hear. Not that there aren't differences, just that its easy to figure out the changes between the two games. I've even seen people making rules for Jedi in D&D(essentially a combination of monk, paladin and psion).

I'm thinking of picking up the SWRPG rules soon, so we could do either or both.

Isn't D&D good to learn on? And then we could move onto SWRPGs? Or can we just figure out SWRPGs really easy?

I say we go with D&D and then move up to SWRPG. I am an experienced DM, and with Eric's books, or if he's not around, my older books, we can simplify combat and makes things smooth for everybody. I'd be honored to start up a campaign, that is if you guys want me to be a DM. After everybody is comfy with the whole D&D thing, we could have guest DMs to rotate it around. All you need for D&D is a piece of paper and an imagination. Books and dice only supliment the fun. :)
