I saw a blurb about this rumor on TV (must have been G4?) and they said their source is EGM. Searching isn't finding more info.

An open-ended sandbox type of thing with Batman. Potentially awesome if it doesn't catch move/superhero game-idis.

So, like the recent Spider-man games, but with Batman... sounds completely awesome.

BB was a decent Batman game..just not dark enough. Gotham City is not a brightly lit place, which the designers seem to have missed. :p

    Hopefully this'll correct that.

Yeah, what will these designers do for daytime when Batman has to be Bruce Wayne?

I'd love to see this happen, but the fact that is was reported by G4 makes me a bit iffy.

A Batman game with a respected developer that stems solely from the comics and not a movie/television show incarnation would be kickass. I don't know about making it open-world, though.

Sounds cool. Batman is one of my favorite characters, and it'd be nice to see a developer do him some justice in the video game world.

Alas, such was the dream that Batman: Dark Tomorrow failed to fulfill.

Okay, let me rephrase my statement.

A Batman game with a respected developer and on a decent console that stems solely from the comics and not a movie/television show incarnation would be kickass. :p

    It would be pretty cool.

Getting to tool around in the Batmobile, GTA style, would be pretty neat.

A SM2 style batman game is severly needed. It's long overdue IMO

I have (some) faith in the Dark Knight game that will come out in '08. What shots/video I saw so far look pretty sweet.

I think such a concept would be great, and would work, as long as it has nothing at all to do with the movies.

The question is: will Batman be able to pick up hookers like in GTA?

Batman GTA style, no. SM2 style, yes.
    (just to clarify)
