Rumors About Episode I

remember when they were filming or about to film episode I and all these rumors started rising well we can join them all here and discuss them let it begin.

 

New rumor! New rumor! Jar Jar will get sold by Qui-gon!

 

I remember hearing a few rumors:

- Captain Panaka would be a villian
- Kenneth Branagh would play Obi-Wan Kenobi
- ILM was going to CG Alec Guinness' face onto Ewan McGregor's to make Obi-Wan look exactly like young Alec (dumbest rumor I ever heard; I never believed it for a second)

That's all I can remember.

 

I remember reading about the new Sith Lord Panaka would somersaulted into the Theed hangar and started battling the Naboo.

I thought that would be the first of the film, not towards the end. Don't know why just pictured Panaka attacking while the Queen attempted to escape.

 

ST the rumour about Alec Guiness ... Who would really believe that, I mean honestly? Why even have anyone play him then

- Gillian Anderson was going to play a female Jedi
- Yaddle was going to be purple, and play a much larger role than she did
- Kitster = Boba Fett
- the opening crawl would be preceded by the phrase " a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away."
- Many claimed the film was still going to be called "Balance of the Force" months after the official title was given

Terence Stamp would play Trakin
Charleton Heston would voice Yoda
instead of Star Wars, the PT would be called Clone Wars

 

Hugh Quarshie would play Darth Panaka, the villain who fights Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan on Tatooine.

Liam Neeson would play a wise Jedi named either Montross or Bosh.

Jar Jar would become a Jedi.

was Calrissian.
There was a third Sith Lord called Darth Sinister.

I heard that after it came out

 

* Mace Windu owned The Millenium Falcon.

and

* A massive underwater battle

LOL, I guess ethnic continuity wouldn't have mattered.

 

I heard a young kid once claim that Darth Maul didn't die. and in fact used the force to reconnect his two halfs together. This was before Ep2 happened.

Thats the dumbest rumor I have ever heard. Almost as dumb as Jar Jar

I remember hearing that Darth Mauls facepaint was the Masked Magicians Mask but repainted

 

Maul tatoo was the Mandalorian insignia.

Maul upper torso was guided by a cybernetic lower torso. LOL! (this was actually pre-AOTC)

Cloned Mauls!(this was too)

Underwater battle! I think this was speculated based on the filming at the Pinewood Water tank with the Gungan sub, and the shooting at the ponds of Whippendell.
