Today's hot rumor is that Lucas is secretly considering a completely new SW Trilogy filmed in stereoscopic 3D.

I saddly think I have to agree with the folks at io9.com, though.. this seems to be a ploy to boost ticket sales for Avatar.. Saying that how Avatar does would have any impact on how a Star Wars movie would do.. I mean.. come on, I may or may not see Avatar.. but a new Star Wars movie? even after the prequels, I'd still be in live for that.

 

One of the most open secrets around. You can't keep the franchise alive on novels, games and
television production. It takes films to feed the behemoth.

 

So what will be the title of the first movie of this new trilogy? I am hoping they take a page out of Mel Brooks' book and go with something like "Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money".

 

I think we can put this rumor to bed since Avatar flopped.
