RvB2 Volunteer VFX Project - official thread

Gosh, can't a guy just waltz onto these boards with a project and demand a bunch of people roto everything for him within a week or two? This place sucks, screw all of you!

 

Gosh, looks like there'll be nothing for me to pick up in January then! Impressive work, lads, impressive work!

20 shots left to be delivered to me. I need to finish rotoing the big shot at the end myself, and then I have probably 50-60 more shots to composite. Epic.

 

I was going to finish one today, but I finished school too late.

You know, after doing sword training, I shake my head at these two guys dueling now.

I belieeeeeeve we are all set as far as roto goes. Nate is wrangling the last of the work. Right now it's down to a handful of other non-saber effects that Brandon and I are doing, Brandon is doing some excellent color work for the final product, and Dave Adametz is working on the saber sound work. Depending on who gets done with what first, and who is waiting on whom, I may have time to do a fun little credit sequence I have been thinking about. But, I primarily want to get it finished and online as soon as we can.

 

Indeed, roto is basically done. I got either the last shot or second to last shot delivered to me last week, although I need to check our shot list to make sure. That's not counting the big 360° shot that I claimed for myself, but that should only take me an evening to do. I've been swamped with supervising a huge roto project and I was short-handed on available artists, so we each had a tremendous workload that has led to night after sleepless night. I should be delivering it later today though, so I can work on finishing up the RvB2 comps this week. Maybe the release of this will make a nice birthday present for me

Ha, I wasn't actually. Was just curious. Don't think I'd make it til the release. That beeing said, if there's a reasonable deadline though...

Balls, I was hoping people would just forget this existed after awhile; I didn't think it was that popular I've been "finishing" the big shot at the end for weeks now; just had one thing after another crop up. Shouldn't be long before I make the last delivery of shots to Brandon so he can insert the graded plates and render away.
