Ooh. That sounds really cool. Totally different than anything we’ve seen; would’ve been mind-blowing no doubt. A shame what happened, but what’s done is done, Disney has it now.

At the very least, GL by all accounts enjoyed Solo. Love, love, LOVE that he was the one who directed the closet scene; of course that would’ve been him, makes perfect sense.

We all think the Prequels are good, but there are plenty of people who don’t.

 

I have to be honest: he doesn't give enough details for us to be upset about "what could have been," and frankly, a whole trilogy about Midi-Chlorians (unless I'm misunderstanding him) doesn't appeal to me.

I am going to have to agree with you. They were fine in the PT, but going much deeper then we already have is not really my style.

 

Plot twist. The entire Rian Johnson Trilogy is one big documentary about Midi-Chlorians narrated by Ralph Brown in character as Ric Olie in three parts. Disney goes bankrupt and the universe implodes.

Didn’t GL also want the ST to focus on the next generation? Or am I pulling that out of thin air...I recall seeing something about that though; including Luke & co. too...

If he could’ve found a way to weave this “microbial world” together with the Skywalker story, that certainly would’ve been something. I wonder how deep he’d have gotten into the force; whether it would’ve included deeper dives into light & dark & the friction between them.

If nothing else, the possibilities are interesting to think about.

 

I remember George also seemed to want to make the two main character Kira plus someone else between 12-16.

Not sure what point you are trying to make here. Clearly, the people who disliked it where an annoying vocal minority considering how they performed on the box office...
Yes if GL would have made another trilogy it's certain it would have been divisive- but to say that it would have been worse than what we have now...
it's too vague to know one way or the other.

 

Personally... I find the idea very intriguing- it feels very much like the kind of thing I was interested in seeing in the ST- a deeper, more introspective exploration into the Force itself- something that would have made a grand, final statement and fitting into the themes that had been first setup in TPM.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Whills being the ones who controlled the Force... but then again there is the whole concept of the Force having a "Will" (get it) in which according to Qui-Gon, the Force has an omnipresent and guiding role (something which is completely non-existent in the ST- but I digress) so perhaps with a more fleshed out idea it would have made sense all along.

GL never let me down and proved with The Clone Wars that his imagination was as amazing and vivid as ever at telling stories... I have no reason to doubt his abilities with this trilogy.
