haha, i was just thinking maybe this game would be tough for you in terms of your loyalties (since you love France so much as well)...but in a head-to-head matchup, homeland feelings triumph, I take it?

(i'm kind of the opposite--a lot of of times in the Olympics, i rarely root for the Americans in the individual sports, there are individual American athletes that I like, but I rarely feel revved up in support of the american teams* or for the US in terms of overall medal count...)

*there have been exceptions of course, like if there's a particularly compelling "story" for a certain American team

 

I'm not much of a patriot, but this World Cup brings me back to my childhood when I used to watch football religiously, especially the World Cup in France 1998 when we finished third, behind France and Brazil.
If France was playing against someone else, then I'd root for them. Their team is fantastic. But I want people around me to celebrate, dance and sing on Sunday when we beat them.

 

I just recently learned Cornwall is not, in fact, a large wall made of corn.

oh of course, @Evening Star ... that makes perfect sense yeah, being part of wildly celebrating fans is really fun!

 

I finally did it, 102% the first Crash Bandicoot game (n.sane trilogy edition) with all gems (time trials not included), and i just, a half hour ago finished the hardest level in the entire game (so hard it was originally a deleted level for the original game), stormy ascent


Now theres only two more games left, and thankfully the hardest one is now over.

Well, I was thinking "around Bath" as in "around Bath time" and that it was capitalized for being a traditional event.
