PT RIP RYL Episode Lando (2018-2018)

It's good to compare scores from various sites to get a more accurate sense of what people think.

The thing with TLJ is real though. I've read loads of comments on FB and YouTube and the hatred for that film is off the charts. Haters even saying things like "At least the PT....." fill in the blank. Like, even though they hate AotC, they don't hate it as much as TLJ.

I'll be honest, I love TLJ. It is interesting and sometimes rather scary how much hatred there is online for that film though. I don't really get it, tbh.

 

Just watched the movie The Edge of Tomorrow - Live, Die, Repeat.

Honestly loved it, even if it is in a way very heavily reminiscent of another movie (won't spoil which one in case anyone doesn't know the twist, would be a total mind**** if you didn't know the premise ), it went in it's own direction after the first half an hour.

The main two characters, played by Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, were really well done I thought, particularly Blunt's character. Felt very compelling.

Can't really believe they're making a sequel though, how's that gonna work.

Anyone else seen it, would love to know what anyone else thought?

 

Oh I know the hatred is real. But I do think the hatred is exaggerated and the fanboy revenge movement will deflate pretty soon. To be honest I've been trying to play devil's advocate for TLJ in spite of what I really think because I don't wanna be known as a resident hater. I already did that with TFA.

 

Well, you have the right attitude.

It's ok to rank and judge TFA and TLJ, but noone really knows how it's all going to fit together until the ST is completed.
I would imagine a lot of people might have been pissed about how TESB ended back in the day.
ROTJ brought everything to a nice conclusion and I bet Empire was reevaluated subsequently and is pretty much ranked #1 on every "official" SW list online.

Maybe TLJ will be remembered more fondly after Episode IX?

 

That's the name of the game. Not just movies, but also music, art, sports, life choices, food, politics, religion.

 

I suspect (though don't know for sure) it's the response or (non response) from Disney regarding a certain character apart from the actor playing the part.

Yes I'm talking about Luke. I mean we are talking Luke Skywalker. This is an icon as big as Darth Vader himself and someone like Homer Simpson. The fact some people didn't like the total U turn the character presented on screen they even killed him off for good measure. That is going to piss people off. And not so much as an "oh well *shrug* " from Lucasfilm. So yes I do understand the hate it gets.

Myself for those that don't know, actually liked TLJ, I liked the casino scenes, some of the humour did work for me, and looking forward to what happens with Rose. So I don't consider myself a hater by any means. I just have sympathy for those that was deeply upset about it and don't have the attitude of "get over it" that some people do.

Yea, I mean my main issues with TLJ involve Luke Skywalker as well, so we're on the same page.
Thing is, I decided to read the novelization and watch all the bts footage, deleted scenes, and interviews. I've watched a lot of TLJ bashing videos on YouTube (it's actually difficult to find positive videos lol), so at the minimum I've tried to figure out what is going on with all of this.

Certainly, no one needs to do all that, but SW is one of my main hobbies, so I want to like it, you know?
But yeah, nobody needs to "get over it" if they dislike the movie. That's fine. I'd say 75% of people I talk to IRL dislike the PT so there is that. Nothing to do about that, right? It is what it is.

I still have issues with how Luke was handled in TLJ, but I have come to understand why those decisions were made and can accept it, at least. I mean, it's one of the actual films. It's not going away as far as canon, like what Disney did to the EU.

What an exhausting weekend. There was big events on campus yesterday so I've been out and about with friends(slightly procrastinating on my projects, which one is due Friday ) now I just wanna sleeeep all day, but I have lots of work to do Hope everyone had a good weekend too.

Oh yeah. I used to regularly play that on my DS when I was younger. Although, I've always preferred the PS2 version.
