Sabers in After Affects 6.5 Pro

    Does anyone out there know how to make lightsaber blades in Adobe After Affects 6.5 Pro.

    k 3 second lightaber tut

    make new solid
    mask it and timeframe the mask
    with arrow pointer change mask over saber in every frame
    when done make new comp
    drag mask layer to new comp
    copy three times
    make gaussian blur on layers such as 10 30 1
    make new black layer
    put masked layer in comp 2 over black layer
    drag comp 2 to comp 1
    but comp 2 on screen
    effects adjust color balance

    Given the fact that looking and reading are technically different, I'd suggest looking again and reading this time. The first post has links to many different saber tutorials.

    I looked in that thread and didnt see anything.

    ...Are you serious? Did you even read it? The entire front page is dedicated to different ways of making lightsabers in different programs. Any tutorial that works in any version of AE will work.

    It's worth noting that the links are broken in the HOW TO MAKE LIGHTSABERS sticky thread. The links to the tutorials on TFN point to the old .html and .shtml pages instead of to the .asp pages that TFN is now using. Perhaps one of the mods can fix this.

    My point exactly, nothing works. And I did read. I did not see anythinf for the 6.5 Pro version.

    Its the same as the other AE just use any AE tutorial

    You seem to be under the impression that 6.5 is somehow different. The methods are the same as any other version of AE. I've been using the same method for my lightsabers since version 4.

    for a second i thought he was an 05'er but, low and behold, 04
