I saw this on 3dtotal and inside cg yesteday and this has to be some of the best effects i have seen in a amature film. The detail is incredible. Even though the titles are in french there are no speaking parts in your film so you'll be able to understand it. It also had a short production time from February to June! Download it here

I know there are a few people on this board from France, and one of the pics in gallerie on the Sacrilège site is a guy with a rotoscoped lightsabre......

I wonder if there is a connection?????

I must say the graphics were excellent! But I think the animation could've used some more work though. The movements were great and flowed nicely, but they were MUCH too slow, almost 2x slower than they should've been. This is OK if its a videogame introduction sequence, but not if its a CG movie.
Anyway, it was awesame all the same :)

    Mad props to the French!

    Carl

Sauja, Do you think one of the guys who made this "pretty short film" is a member of this forum ? ?[face_plain]

Nevertheless, I just gave a look on their website and there are some good stuffs here.
and you now what ? They just live in a few miles from my little city ... may be I will meet this guys someday :) and they will learn me their knowledge :D ... I gonna to need it :p

Anyway, keep up the good work guys.

    Greg.

carl i agree with you for some parts of the character animation. But not for any other, just look at that cup at the end! it first slides no rolls then rolls, most of us would forget that little movement. That blows me away each time. The candle fire was incredible also

Bah, I can hear the music/sounds, but all I see through the entire thing is that first frame... any ideas?

I agree that the character animation could use a tad bit of work, but over all it was incredible :) I think they used the LotR soundtrack very nicely.

    Thanks macho :p

That was incredible! Really, really good!

Did they use the Indy Raiders music at all, or am I getting mixed up?

U do realize that some schools in the US it cost 32000 a year right? so 6000 a year is like nothing compared to those... in fact most colleges are more (well if ur out of state :))

I know, I know :p I just thought that the music when picking up the cup sounded a lot like the scene in Raiders - guess I got it mixed up. Sorry :(
