An inquest is being held today into the death of Drewe Henley, who played Red Leader in A New Hope and Rogue One. The 75 year old was in hospital at the time of his death in Devon, UK. Original article

Thanks for sharing it with us. Excerpts from the article:

Mr Henley interpreted his character as an experienced battle veteran and so opted to play him without any excitement in his voice. Director George Lucas disagreed with this so they compromised so that Red Leader would at first be formal but as the battle progressed become more excited.

When the Special Edition cut of A New Hope was released in 1997 it featured an additional scene of Mr Henley in which he talked with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Biggs Darklighter (Garrick Hagon). Mr Henley was pleased with the scene's addition, although his credit was not corrected.

I see, the cast credits misspell him as "Drewe Hemley" while it should be "Drewe Henley".

Too bad he wouldn't be able to learn that they got his last name spelling right in the cast credits of Rogue One. :(
