Sad SW (and TV in general) news to report...

It's being reported that Art Carney has passed away at the age of 85.

Most of us know that he played Norton opposite Jackie Gleason's Ralph on the classic TV show "The Honeymooners". And some of us even remember that he was Saundan, the kindly shopkeeper on Kashyyyk who hides Chewie's family from the Imperials, from the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Anyways, it's a shame to hear this. He will be missed.

Damn, nearly teared up typing that...

 

I'd like to just mention that when I first saw the horrid Holiday Special two years ago, Art Carney's scenes were the only parts I really liked...There was a warmth to his character that was appealing set amongst the other actors, and some of his lines made me laugh.

Hats off to you, Art.
