I know it's going to be hot & yeeesh,not a pleasant temperature to be dressing up, but it'd be great if a few people would be able to costume up for the day, it would definately be good for the day. Can you help out please ?

Who will be costuming and in what ?

 

i will attend and ill dress up in my jedi costume.

so i dont dehydrate i will put my hydration pack on under my robe

 

Leia if she's inside, Padme if she's outside

 

i will be in Boba for the whole day

what time are we allowed there again? to set up? if i can help out in any way, shape or form on the day, let me know always willing to lend a hand... even a lift maybe? if you are on my way? i will have a bit of room..

the lovely mrs_jtn just asked do we need straws??? some littler kids cant drink straight from cans...and some ladies dont like to..

mrs_jtn and i went out today to get the 30 can variety packs of Australia's Choice and i have found out that there is a shortage around the country. the supplier is in dispute and it maybe being bought out by someone else. also the amount of flavours per box may also be changed? so we had to buy the single flavour cartons and there are none of the lemon and lemonade to be found. i rang the local stores near us to find what was still available and this was all i could find. so hopefully its ok that i bought the YL Coles brand of the 2 remaining flavours??

also i thought it would be easier for everyone to add their names to this list so that everyone could track what we have and still might need? just in case someone else could help?

now i will be bringing a bit of my Boba collection, my star wars miniatures and some of my lego that i think DLA doesnt have

 

cool dude, i am bringing my mannequin with RG costume, some books, 12" biker scout, 501st patch display. Also have finished doing the gifts for both Charles Ross and Sean Williams, just having issues with the computer to upload photos of the finished product.

Do We have signs made upfor the day ?

Eg: Display Room, Mos Espa Salesmarket, Toilets

Stuff like that ?

Could have them done in the Star Wars Font Maybe the Awe inspiring Saff sign on it too

Hey, I will get a $50 changed into coins and various notes for the day as a float, as long as i get it back at the end its all good We are going to need change over the day anyways

I'd love to costume up, but I'd probably die of heat exhaustion in that much polyester, it gets hot in that dress and I certainly am not brave enough to wear the Arica one either because of the extra lining and it needs to be taken in about four sizes, ditto the Ceremonial Gown (I've got no time anymore to sew.)

I'll bring my 12inch 1978 Leia, but she's lost her shoes and stockings, (there's a little monkey somewhere that calls itself my niece that's tossed them somewhere in my room, if I find 'em, I'll bring 'em,),a couple of board games, (1978 Death Star Board game, Star Wars Monopoly, Star Wars Chess,) and a couple of harder to find books.

I'll also bring a stuffed Fooshie for the makeshift Meander's Inn, the live one doesn't like the heat.

 

I emailed the event to about 20 people today, there's already one keen individual (a local SA scifi/fantasy writer who's a SW fan...not Sean ). I also 'posted' the event to my 250+ Facebook friends. Okay, so a good 30 of them will be going out with us AFTER the dinner with Charles, hence aren't likely to make it, but even if a few do it would help.

Is there a roster for people to be 'guarding' the Collection Room? If I bring the games + consoles, there's literally thousands of dollars and hundreds of searching hours there...makes me nervous thinking about it...

 

there will be "roving" security, but with more than 20 SAFFers going I would hope that there would be atleast one person in any room at any one time anyway. The best guarentee is having a good insurance if something does happen. I have my collection covered for the day
