The papers are in the mail and the Wizard is one step closer to becoming a citizen. I printed up a list of sample questions off the Government site and wondered how many of these questions we would be able to answer, remembering that we were born here.

I'm going to make this a contest with the winner getting something, I'm not sure what yet, so no cheating by looking up the answer online or anywhere else.

Okay, first five questions. (Remeber these are supposed to be a sample of the questions that will be asked when the Wizard takes his citizenship test.)

1.) What are the colors of our flag?

2.) What do the stars on the flag mean?

3.) How many stars are there on our flag?

4.) What color are the stars on the flag?

5.) How many stripes are there on our flag?

    Good luck.

Ok, I know I can't even begin to rival Greg but I want in on this shindig.

11.) Who was the first President of the United States? That old dude with wooden teeth.

12.) Who is the President of the United States today? Burger the King.

13.) Who is the Vice President of the United States today? Harry Whittington.

14.) Who elects the President of the United States? Zell Miller.

15.) Who becomes President if the President dies? Actually, there's a very intricate and well-laid order. First in line is Charlton Heston, followed by Harrison Ford, then Martin Sheen, if he were offed then Bill Pullman, Geena Davis, Muad'dib, Dennis Quaid, Kevin Kline, John Travolta, AH-NULD, and if worse comes to worst, Will and/or Tina Turner.

The small county of the Uinted States holds a pow wow each year for the election of their president. They have triathalon to see who is the most powerful person in their country, and whoever wins must pass the final test of walking on hot coals. They then are presented the golden shell which means they are the president of the Uinted States. ;)

Well it is good to know that my many votes for Bill the Cat were not wasted...or perhaps they were?

11.) Who was the first President of the United States?
George Washington (He was named after the Washington Monument...no, wait...).

12.) Who is the President of the United States today?
Do I have to say it out loud? I'm still getting over the fact that we're stuck with him 'till 2008.

13.)Who is the Vice President of the United States today?
Dead-Eye Dick Chaney (or "The Invisible Man").

14.) Who elects the President of the Uinted States?
The Electoral College... I wonder what kind of financial aide packages they offer (yeah yeah, I know, but they can't all be golden:p).

15.) Who becomes President if the President dies?
The Vice President, which I think is why the most recent ones have been, how shall I put it, less than Presidential material. Nobody's gonna bump off the Pres. if the next guy in line is a turnip.

I'm thinking these are still pretty easy. Now, if they were to go on beyond the Veep in Presidential succession I'd be out of luck:D.

    16.) What is the Constitution?

17.) What do we call changes to the Constitution?

18.)What are the three branches of our Government?

    19.) What makes up Congress?

20.) Who makes the Federal laws in the United States?

    Good luck.:D

16.) What is the Constitution? The document that details the rights of all U.S. citizens.

17.) What do we call changes to the Constitution? Ammendments.

18.)What are the three branches of our Government? Legislative, executive, and judicial i think.

19.) What makes up Congress? 50 Senators? or is that the House of Representatives? anyhow, one of them has 50 and the other has more according to how populated a state is (like electoral votes).

20.) Who makes the Federal laws in the United States? who makes them, like, writes them? isn't that Congress (whose members are elected by us)? and then the President can veto them. and vice-versa i think.

    16.) What is the Constitution?
It's a map to the Mason's lost treasure... no, that was the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution is the document upon which our country was founded. (Oh yeah, rights and stuff, like Liz said:D).

17.) What do we call changes to the Constitution?
Ammendmants, ammandents, adamants; shagrat, meshack, and abendigo... Uno mas: Amendments, there.

18.)What are the three branches of our Government?
Legislative, Judicial, Executive. (No jokes here, they take care of that pretty much by themselves).

    19.) What makes up Congress?
Congressmen(and women) duh!... The three-hundred some-odd Representatives chosen to represent a state's interests in Washington(named after the Washington monument). (Did I do that one already? It's so hard to keep track)...(Call it a running gag). The number of them chosen is based on the state's population.

20.) Who makes the Federal laws in the United States?
We, the people, make the laws. Or at least begin the process, it's gotta pass through a whole passel of loopholes first. Some stop at the state level, some go all the way through to the Prez.

I bet our teachers would be overjoyed to learn that some of us actually remember this stuff![face_alien_1]

Gah, let's see how much I remember from my government class..

21.) Who makes the Federal laws in the United States?

It's this long process in Congress, though I'm trying to remember if it's the House or Senate... I'll leave it at Congress. :p

    22.) Who elects Congress?

The people from the state they're representing. Areas choose their house rep, while a Senator... I think they're elected? Gah, I can't remember.

23.) How many Senators are there in Congress?

    102. 2 from every state (Washington DC counts, if I remember correctly).

24.) For how long do we elect each Senator?

    Can't remember. 4-8 years?

25.) Who is the head of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government?

    El presidente. ;)
