I am flying in to San Diego from San Antonio and wanted to ask what local eateries are good and affordable near the con or within a reasonable distance from the con.

    Thanks and MTFBWY.

Depends on what you want to eat and the price range, truthfully.

If you want to spend the least, Horton Plaza is just up the road and has a huge food court with all sorts of fast food: McDonalds, Panda Express, the list goes on and on.

There's also a Ralphs grocery store up the road, if you want to just buy food and bring your own lunch.

On the pricier side of the scale, there's restaurants in Seaport Village, the Gaslamp, Little Italy... everywhere. Though, they're not on the cheaper side of things.

The convention center also sells food there, like hot dogs and pizzas. Pricier than normal, but decent food.

Right across Harbor Blvd from the Convention Center, at 5th is the Tin Fish. it is decently priced and their fish tacos are good. (two is good for most ppl).

If you go a block or two up on just off 6th, there's a subway.

there's a nice bread and sandwich store around 7th and Market. it's a bit further out, so doesn't get much Con traffic for lunch.

if you want nice sit down, there's plenty of good thai, indian, italian, etc, along 4th and 5th in the gaslamp quarter.

How about some good nightclubs near the con? Some of us are interested in going Friday night.

I don't know any downtown, but I'm sure there's lots in the Gaslamp.
