SANCTUARY OF THE FORCE

STORY

The year is [b]1156 ABY[/b] and the Second Galactic Empire, which has been in power for just over nine hundred years, is beginning to fall apart from corruption, misguided philosophy, and short-sighted Emperors. During its time, this Empire has seen the rising and quelling of Rebellions, time after time. But before, the Empire had been near its apex of power; now it is falling at an exponentially increasing rate.

However, for the inhabitants of Space Station QL-95, it does not matter; for they have long been a sovereign, self-governing body on the very edges of known space. They are the generations of the remnants of those that had once called themselves the Jedi and those that had once called themselves the Sith; for the rise of the Second Galactic Empire had brought with it the downfall of all those who used the Force? or so it seemed to the galaxy at large.

However, a few had survived and put aside their differences, if only for a while, to establish a sanctuary for them, their children, their children?s children, and so on. But things didn?t go as expected; the Second Galactic Empire never fell and so both Jedi and Sith children learned and played together, and soon there were no distinction between the two groups. There were only the users of the Force.

After centuries of isolation from the rest of the galaxy, the offspring form the two great orders have become a single, coherent entity; the Followers. They have but one philosophy, one Force, and one Code.

They believe that they are to have compassion for others, that which they define as unconditional love. As such, they believe they are encouraged to forge emotional bonds with other; they believe that such is unavoidable, yet only makes them stronger. They have a tight-nit community, where everyone has their own significant role in keeping the Station up and running.

However, things are starting to go awry; the new generation is becoming restless and eager to leave the safety of their sanctuary. Many Followers are once more dividing up with their own interpretations of the ancient texts. The Station is on the brink of catastrophe. What happens next may well be triggered by the actions of a single person. Only time can tell?

RELIGIONS
[hr]

Shi

The Shi believe that the Force is living; a conscious being that directs our lives and influences our will. They will blindly lay down their lives for what they believe in, if they must. While still believing in marriage, though they discourage too much attachment between partners, outside of reproductive matters. Using the Force is not a matter of too much concern, and they wish it to be unrestricted in use.

Restrictions: Can only wield one, single-bladed lightsaber. GM can force character to do things for his beliefs that he/she might not ordinarily do.


Sanii

Sanii are heavily involved in the Force, but think of it more as a tool and object of focus, rather than a sentient being. Attachment is untouched by their beliefs, believing all is fair in both love and war, so to speak. However, they refuse to use Force Powers they deem dangerous, such as the draining of another being?s life force.

Restrictions: No use of darkside powers. Cannot wield two lightsabers at a time.


Amura

Amurites (Followers subscribing to the Amura faith) are well-versed in physical combat, and, as such, are naturally weaker in the Force. They have deep beliefs that forbid them to use the Force in such a way that would affect their physical body; for the nature of their training is in the physical realm. The particulars of the Force are of little consequence to them, and so they get along with both the Sanii and the Shi, whilst the two groups have constant quarrels with each other.

Restrictions: No use of lightside powers. Powers are significantly weaker than if used by someone trained as a Sanii or Shi.

GM OOC: Due to the sudden halt in the flow of CSs, and the fact that it has been four days with little participation, I will give, for anyone who hasn't already to send in a CS, until 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, tonight. If I have requested a revision, you have until 9:00 PM, tonight (and again Eastern Time), to send in a revised CS.

At that time, I will post the Dramatis Personae, ask that all approved CSs be posted, and deliver the opening posts. Once we begin, anyone else wishing to participate may resume sending in their CSs. Anyone approved after the eight-player limit will have to be put on the wait list.

Biography: Josh grew up in the Sanctuary to parents that died at birth. His mother, Lina died in Ken?s childbirth. Raged with anger his father, Rudil, tried to kill Ken, when he was caught in the act, he was executed.
Joshua and Ken went into separate families until Josh became 16 and went on his own. At 17 Josh took custody of Ken, and they became a family again. Josh turned 18 he became more of a powerful force user. His power doesn?t seem to die down, and often loses control. Joshua and Ken make their lives inside of a Dormitory.

Biography: August was born a small child and he nearly died at the time. It was a miracle he survived, because he was such a small baby. The fact that he is so mentally and physically tough, is the reason he is an Amurite. That, and the fact that he has such a strange connection to the Force.

He can only manipulate it in certain ways and to varying extents and with certain conditions. His repulse is unnaturally powerful, he is capable of throwing Masters away from him, as he has demonstrated.

Only once, was he angry enough to Sever the Force, and that was after his parents split up. He used the power to cut off his friend?s connecti

 

GM OOC: Please note that, while I have allowed the player's characters to have their precious über-powerful Force powers, use of these more powerful powers will result in your character becoming very exhausted: EG. John uses Electric Judgement, but tires moments later, rendering all but the most trivial of powers useless.

If the players themselves don't RP it as such, I will do it myself... and make things even worse than they would normally be. Use of such powers while a character is already exhausted could easily result in a GM-sanctioned character death.

Additions to the Sanctuary:

Arboretum

The Arboretum is an area in the Greenhouse spefically for personal gardening and teaching of plant biology for the younglings.

Hangar

The Hangar is not a single room, but a strip of various landing platforms inside an organic-metal "alloy" bubble on the Sanctuary. There are hundreds upon thousands ships docked or free-floating in the hangar, though only a few are assigned for personal use. The rest are used as garrison ships if the need to defend the Sanctuary ever becomes reality.

In the spacious area of the Capacity room, in the northeastern-most corner stood the tallest of trees in all the Sanctuary. Under this shade-providing tree were two hunched figures, looking over a handheld holopad. If one were to look from afar, they would see what looked like two Apprentices studying for their Knightship Exams. However, upon closer inspection, once would see that the Human and Noghri both wore the off-brown robes of Sanii Knightship over their regular clothing. Their intentions would thus be a mystery... unless you were them yourself.

The Human, a clean-shaven boy of eighteen years, hailed as [color=royalblue][b]Joshua Karn[/b][/color]. The Noghri, wearing a Krayt Dragon skin underneath his robes, was christened Reljonkah Clan Dalitrhkle, but was more affectionately, if you would dare say so, called "[color=crimson][b]John[/b][/color]," due to the difficulty of pronouncing his name.

[color=royalblue]" Here,"[/color] [color=royalblue][b]Joshua[/b][/color] said, pointing at the anomolous reading on the star chart, [color=royalblue]"is where the [i]Sanctuary's Phantom[/i] disappeared. This just doesn't make any sense..."[/color]

As the Human retracted his pointing finger, [color=crimson][b]John[/b][/color] reached out and tapped the hologram just several centimeters away from where [color=royalblue][b]Joshua[/b][/color] had pointed (which, in reality, were many kilometers apart), and waited for the program to zoom in. When it did so, [color=crimosn][b]John[/b][/color] pointed at the single object on the screen; a main sequence yellow star, nearing the end of its life. Around it, there should have been planets; but the chart showed none. Something wasn't right, obviously.

[color=crimson]"I believe,"[/color] [color=crimson][b]John[/b][/color] said, slowing his speech down so the Human could understand, [color=crimson]"we may find our answer here, in the Verael system."[/color]

The Human raised an eyebrow in question, looking the firce Noghri in the eyes. Several seconds passed before John realized the unspoken question.

[color=crimson]"I know there were planets here on the charts at least three months ago; a peace convoy went missing there and the council sent me and Trayus to investigate. There were Trandoshan pirates out that way; I have a feeling they may have something to do with the disappearance... and for the deletion of chart records."[/color]

[color=royalblue]"How?"[/color]

[color=crimson]"I'm not sure... but let us not waste time; the sooner we depart, the sooner I can... [i]relax[/i] again."[/color]

[color=royalblue][b]Joshua[/b][/color] opened his mouth to say something along the lines of sparring hardly being relaxing, but closed it again, figuring that arguing with a Noghri wa

 

Of August Say in the Meditation Rooms

August?s anger was drowned out by excitement. He nearly leapt from his sitting position at Rhylos. His arms twitched, but he contained himself. He slowly pushed himself to his feet. Feigning disinterest, he shook his hair out of his eyes.

He reached behind him, for the hilt of his lightsaber. Nothing happened. August scowled. He shook his arm and the hilt ignited, flying towards his head. With the speed of a Divto, he jerked his face away. The blade sung by, singeing his cheek. His hand leapt to it and he yelped. It would most likely scar.

His hilt lay on the ground. He cursed himself and his weakness. Then, he cursed his mother, for bearing a worthless child. It made him wonder why the Grandmaster wanted to see him. Was he taking pity on August? Was this a plan schemed by his mother? August?s good mood shattered and he walked towards the Zabrak and barked.

?Well, where is the Grandmaster??

Of Rhylos Yuir in the Meditation Rooms

"Oh right," Rhylos said, mentally berating himself for being so careless, "Grandmaster Solo is in the Greenhouse, by the floating sphere. I would suggest you hurry." The Zabrak looked down at August; he was getting taller every day.

IC: Joshua Karn at the Receptionist Desk, outside of the hangar-

?Sanctuary business?

?You?re Clear, down that hall and to the left? The receptionist ordered.

Joshua tilted his head in a slight bow, as they walked on. He glanced over and John, then back at the holocron. He then looked down the hall, until we turned again into another curved passage. The walls and halls were very casual, nothing out of the ordinary. Besides, what they just were discussing. It seemed odd that it would go missing. The finally came to a door that they could pass through to get into the hangar.

?Very odd? Joshua said to particularly himself, not minding if anyone were to hear. Joshua often talked out of his thoughts, but he really didn?t mind what people thought, or heard.

Joshua and John passed through the door into the hangar where a transport lay. They walked past service droids cleaning up ruble, from something Joshua didn?t want to hear about. Joshua looked up at the transport, it was a standard sized ship, and he was used to fighters. Not cruisers. Joshua saw John moved closer to enter, Joshua followed.

Of Ailya in the Energy Room

Ailya was a patient woman, but these youngsters were getting on her nerves. Kidajj went off after another one.
A noise from the corner drew her attention. With a shake of her head and a curling of her finger, the youngling was raised into the air.
"Your not suppose to be in here, you know that right?" The young man nodded to her and she set him down. "Go on." she prodded.
The young man pouted as Ailya escorted him to the door. She was beginning to feel like an old mother disciplining her children, instead of a seventeen year old Squire.
She was glad that the guard shift was almost over. She was anxious to get back to her garden. She was working on a new strain of Epican Wheat that could survive more harsh climates.
She looked back over at Kidajj he was bent over trying to coax a youngling out from under some equipment. The duty could be worse, she could have been stuck with someone without a sense of humor. She tilted her head a little. The view wasn't that bad either.

IC: Kidajj Polis

Things had gone normally with his duty of guarding the energy room. For the life of him, Kidajj couldn't think of a reason why children would want to play around there of all places.. or why they would come back so frequently after several reprimands on different occasions. Sometimes it was hard to keep in mind that they were younglings and didn't have the concept of a code of honor embedded within them yet. Even with that though, they should know better. Such pranks and mischief was above these younglings. And as soon as he got the one out now that was hiding from him, he would make sure they all knew it.

He bent over and poked his head into the spot where the young man was crouched in the darkness, trapped. Kidajj held out his hand to the shadowy figure, and spoke in a low calm voice.

"Come now. Time to leave little one."

He continued to prod at the boy but to no avail. He simply didn't want to leave.

"Fine... have it your way."

Kidajj stood and opened himself to the Force. He crossed his arms across his chest as it enveloped him. He felt the boy inside the hole, with his knees to his chest, everything around him. The air they were breathing. Absolutely everything...

Which was when he felt another set of eyes on him. He looked over and saw his younger counterpart lookin at him. It was an interesting look. Kidajj was confused as what to make of it.

Kidajj thought to himself as he surrounded the boy with the Force and slid him on his rear on out the duct. Right into the shins of the waiting Kidajj. The boy looked up and scrambled to his feet, then dashed out the main door.

His squire partner tonight was rather pretty indeed, but he kept his mind off of that for the time being. She was still young and no doubt had an interest in a great many things, if not people. For now Kidajj would brush the look off and continue on in his duty.

He leaned against the entranceway and closed his eyes, arms still crossed, letting the Force continue to flow around him in case anyone else tried to get in.

His eyes remained closed as he spoke to Ailya.

"And how are we doing tonight, Miss Ailya?"

Of Ailya in the Energy Room

She felt Kidajj tap into the Force. He glanced back at her, probably felt her eyes upon him. She didn't look away, in fact she smiled. She wasn't bashful when it came to the opposite gender. Men looked at her, and she felt like it was only fair to return the complement.

He turned back to the duct. A youngling slid out of the duct, and stopped at his feet. The young boy dashed out the door.

"And how are we doing tonight, Miss Ailya?" She was leaning against a piece of equipment with three objects floating in front of her, a large bolt, a hydrospanner, and a small wall panel. She was juggling them with the Force, catching and tossing them to keep them in the air. It was something she use to do as a youngling, and it kept her mind off of the closed in spaces of the Energy Room.

"Well including the one you just evicted we're at six. I just don't understand why they like it down here. Its too cramped."

She continued to juggle the items.

Kidajj nodded. He wasn't a big fan of cramped areas either. He was a tall being and liked open area to move in. It was truely boggling why people liked playing in a room such as this. It was also equally as strange that a GreatKnight and a Squire would both be needed to guard it. But he wasn't complaining. Even if he did have age and experience on Ailya in many ways, he enjoyed her company. Something about the hue of her skin that was calming to the eyes. Her appearance was slightly misleading towards her abilities. And it was these that truely caught his attention at most times. He gave her a charming smile, creases forming on his cheeks from the motion throughout his life.

"I dont pretend to understand it myself. But. It is what it is I suppose. Shift is almost over anyway. Come sit with me wont you? I am interested in discussing your recent progress in studies and life. Tell me what is new, we haven't talked in a while."

As if drawing her closer he nudged the objects she was juggling with his own influence, bringing them closer.

Of Ailya in the Energy Room


"I dont pretend to understand it myself. But. It is what it is I suppose. Shift is almost over anyway. Come sit with me wont you? I am interested in discussing your recent progress in studies and life. Tell me what is new, we haven't talked in a while."
The items drifted towards Kidajj. She altered their trajectory and a handful of nuts and washers joined them. She took them through intricate spirals as they made a large loop back to her.
"My studies have been fine, in fact I have had so much ample time for my studies that I am five years ahead of where I should be. What I would like is to have some assignments."
This was an old issue, though Kidajj probably hadn't heard. She had been a Squire for a little over a year now and had yet to go on her first mission. She was getting tired of being passed over for assignments.
Another sound came from the duct behind Kidajj
"Sounds like number seven is trying to come in the back way."

Kidajj listened to the young woman in front of him. She was skilled indeed. But she was always passed up for missions. He was curious about that to say the least but she was still young. Perhaps she wasn't ready yet. It really wasn't his call to make but he did feel for her. It must be lonely up here all the time. He got to stretch his legs every now and again because of missions.

He was leaning against the wall and slid down with one leg easily out in front of him. His lightsaber gently tapping to the ground, his other knee still up. He rested his elbow on his knee and looked up at Ailya.

"Your time will come Ailya, be patient. Just continue to refine your skills until there is no choice but to send you because you are the best. Use your brain and be the best."

His head turned as he heared the scurrying. Then looked at her with a coy twinkle in his eye and nodded off at the sound.

"You're turn dear...."

Transport En Route to the Verael system.

John paced. He was eager to find the answers to this mistery, and the thought of real combat made his blood race. Like all Noghri, he loved battle, it was ingrained into his DNA.
He looked at his traveling companion, a human named Josh. They had grown up together on QL-95, and had been friends since they were young.

John looked over at Joshua. There had been something nagging at him from the beginning. "How do you think the data about the planets was erased from our data banks without our knowing it? Only followers can enter or erase entries like that." His voice was a smooth and raspy whisper, like silk being dragged across gravel.
"I have a feeling there is more to this then is apparent."

"How do you think the data about the planets was erased from our data banks without our knowing it? Only followers can enter or erase entries like that." His voice was a smooth and raspy whisper, like silk being dragged across gravel. "I have a feeling there is more to this then is apparent."

?More than what appears? Joshua repeated. The ship was silent besides the slow whine of the engine humming throughout the ship. He walked into a separate room where to bunks laid, one on either side. Joshua sat on one and took out his Galactic Laptop and started to look at pictures of their youth. Joshua let out a sigh of reflection. How young they were, as they sneaked into the Energy Room. They had never gotten caught. Once when John had left Joshua deactivated one of the gages and power shut down in the east wing. Joshua heard shouts and quickly turned it on again. He then snuck out of the Energy Room and ran to his quarters.

Long ago, Joshua often wondered if John remembered those times. He thought Josh might as well ask since they were stuck on a plane for hours, maybe even days. Joshua got up and looked at John and asked with a laugh.

Of August Say in the Meditation Rooms

August brushed lightly against Rhylos, as he passed. He said nothing, obviously taking his only experienced friend, for granted. When eh was still in sight, he pretended to amble nonchalantly.

However, when he knew himself to be out of view, he took off at a sprint. Ignoring a warning from a Knight, August sprinted eagerly to the gardens. He had often taken refuge in the gardens, after a outburst during a training session.

His former worry discarded, August pushed confidently into the greenhouse. He easily located the Grandmaster in the Force, something he never had trouble with and walked to him. With a respectful edge to his voice, August anounced his presence.

Biography:
Ken was born 3 years after the birth of Joshua. Ken never looked up to anyone in his family. No parents or siblings. If Ken was asked who he?d want as his mentor, and he had a choice, Ken would say no one. Ken and Joshua are different in every way. The only thing they share is their religion. Ken always wants to be on his own, when it comes to missions and tasks. Joshua doesn?t mind being on his own, but is happy to help others. Ken and Joshua always get into fights, sometimes fatal. Force/Lightsaber fights are what they do all the time. If they don?t have those weapons they will fight with branches, Pipes, Swords, or whatever is they can get their hands on. Ken never backs down even if he has been slit all over his body, nothing will stop him. Except Death.

Biography: Born of Ubese heritige on QL-95 of Clan Vorsazg, Asuun was bred to be a great Amura follower. His parents were handed down the history of their heritige from clan vorsazg and it had been passed down to Asuun when he was born. He is the youngest of 3 with two older sisters. He trained under his father who was extremely hard on the boy but the training he under went as a youngling, through being an apprentice and then squire has greatly benefited him. His missions are always completed and he never takes anything less.

Ken sat in his room looking through family holorecords, remembering back when he was very young. When Ken had not a care in the galaxy, just fun, but that time had ended and he needed to concentrate on his studies. Ken finished his homework and walked to where they kept food supplies. Ken took out ingredients and started to make Kanali Wafer, an Eiattu sweet pastry. The sent from the baking pastry filled the air with sweet smells. Ken took it out of the Thermal Oven. Ken waited for it to cool down after placing it on the counter. A few minutes later Ken returned from the porch and took a spatula. He scooped up the pastry onto a plate, and then walked over to the table. At the table was frosting you drizzle on the pastry. After doing so Ken ate the Pastry and washed the plate. Ken saved three more for him and Joshua. Soon later Ken was informed Joshua left with a fellow student to another system. Ken let out a sigh and went outside, taking a walk over to the Grandmaster?s quarters to see if he was around to talk or meditate with. He knocked on the door, minutes went by and no one answered. He then took a walk near the green house, to see Grandmaster Solo and another Human standing near him. Ken walked in on them waving.
