Note: I do not wish to discuss the cast members' personal misdeeds and such, so please bear that in mind. Thanks.

I've been a fan of this show since childhood, and noticed there was already a thread for it, but it hadn't been updated in years. I recently bought the "Complete Collection" box set plus the two movies on DVD; now I'm just waiting for a great deal on "The College Years".

Say what you will about the "cheese factor" and such, but I miss shows like this today. So much passing for "comedy" on mainstream TV now is crass and crude, with very little imagination. All the main characters on "Saved By The Bell" represented a certain stereotype, but unlike today's programs, the actors and writers embraced such things instead of fearing them. Zack was the schemer with a heart of gold, while Kelly served as the voice of reason, and Slater was the guy everyone wanted backing them up. Lisa was the fashion queen, Screech the comic relief, and Jessie the intellectual with a dash of paranoia. All of them worked together like a big family, and I really wish they'd make stuff like this now without treating the viewers stupidly.

Yeah, I just finished watching the "Wedding in Las Vegas" movie. I'd forgotten about him getting yanked into that pink limousine like a cartoon. [face_rofl]

True story: bachelor party in Overland Park, KS since that's where both my fraternity brother and his wife were from. So we find out that Screech is doing a stand-up routine there and all 12 of us go and are the vast majority of people there. So we invite him to the rest of the bachelor party, like inviting Jake Lloyd to Hat Villa, but he doesn't show up. He did talk with us a good while though...

that was just the warm-up. when frieda invites him to the c vii hat villa he's going to remember the last time and he'll really feel the pressure. somewhere around c xiii a middle-aged jake lloyd will finally crash our party.

That was one of my favourite shows as a teenager. I didn't realise how much I missed it until recently when I came across one of those silly quiz things which told you which character you were most like. I came out as Screech, which isn't surprising. I think Zack was my favourite, though. I'm not aware of any misdeeds concerning the actors, but then I don't tend to follow what actors do outside of their roles. Sometimes, I think it's better not to know.

Edit: Had a look for them on Amazon and found the Complete series. May purchase it. The College Years is only available as a US import, so it wouldn't work on my DVD player, which is a shame.

I randomly see this show on Sunday mornings on channel 002 or 003 and I always tune in if I'm just relaxing. Probably a year or so ago, I collected all the Funko Pop figures. They were hard to find when I learned of them after the fact. I found one or two of them on clearance. What's funny is probably a few months after getting them all my wife and I were at a Dave and Buster's - esque establishment, and they had probably 20 of each figure in exchange for tickets won from playing the establishment's games.

Strange funny, not haha funny. They were definitely charging a premium as you would expect. I don't remember the math, but you'd probably have to spend $30-$50 to get enough tickets to get just one, when one retailed for $10 or less.

You found them on clearance, so they clearly don't sell. D&B probably got a great deal, so it's not even strange.

****ed up to necro an MF2k4 thread without posting some giant stupid screed where you fail to understand the basic philosophical underpinnings of your own belief system and/or laud an openly queer actor that you would've approved of the intense psychological torture of.

My Memories on Facebook remind me that 2 years ago today I found the Lisa Pop at the FYE Wyoming Valley Mall and Kelly at the FYE Stroud Mall. I ultimately bought Slater and Jesse on Amazon on August 28, 2016 after 3 months of searching.

It all started when my wife gifted me Zack and I think I found Screech at and FYE in Philly.

I watched all of this, it was oddly fascinating (also good chance I saw it as a kid). Seems like it was made in Season 1 times and they promo the Saturday morning lineup. Also ALF is in it!

That video was the re-branding from "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" to "Saved by the Bell."

    ...I've wasted my life.

    Amazing.

I heartily disagree because I love TV factoids like that. So, oh! So in continuity this is the adventure that takes them from the Miss Bliss show to Saved by the Bell show (which, in the end of the special, they realize that they too are part of the Saturday morning lineup). Very trippy adventure, probably why they never talked about it again.

Hello fellow Saved By the Bell aficionados. SBTB is back in two ways, but I'm sure you already know. For those who don't...

    1) Zack to the Future Podcast
-> Mark Paul Gosselaar and Dashiell Driscoll, of the Zack Morris is Trash series, have come together to recap one episode a week in an hour long podcast format. Mark has never watched them so he's seeing them for the first time and remembering things from back in the day. Special guests like the actor that played Max and one of the writers add insight and interesting behind the scenes stories that add to this fun trip down memory lane.

Note: Episodes are available on Hulu and Peacock so you can watch and refresh your memory before listening to the podcast. If you're on Hulu, the first season is the Miss Bliss season. They skip that and start with "Season 2" which, at the time I'm typing this, they have just finished up and they're about to start Season 3 with "The Prom".

    2) Saved By The Bell (reboot)
This new series on Peacock starts off by combining the less fortunate students of Douglas High with the new exciting opportunity of going to Bayside High with the rich kids. The show focuses on three kids from Douglas and three from Bayside. No spoilers, but certain students are related to original cast members. Zack, Kelly, Slater, and Jessie are back to reprise their roles as key cast members in this series. This new take on the series feels fresh with a little bit of camp, a dash of nostalgia, some borrowed storylines from the original series combined with some new well written jokes. (Thankfully, there is no laugh track).

Note: A free Peacock account let's you watch the first episode, while premium gives you access to the entire series. (Premium plus lets you download them to your device.) There are 10 episodes and I'm currently 7 in. Some are stronger than others, but overall I'm enjoying the ride. I'm surprised the amount of heart that exists in these episodes as well as the humor. I'm very pleasantly surprised and it's definitely worth your time IMO.
