Saving Threads

To save my threads I just save as. I use Netscape, so it may be different for you. To view my threads once they've been saved, I have to open a netscape window and drag and put the icon in the window. LOL. I know there's probably a better way to save, but I don't know it yet.

Anyway, hope that helps. I plan on cut and pasting and reposting my proof inside! threads soon. Hopefully the REAL Shimmergloom will get to do that...

gundark, I was referring to when you posted to about an entire page full of C Creepio threads within a few minutes.

By the way, everybody, listen up! There will be a major prune of the JCC forum happening very soon, so if anyone wants to save any favorite old Miscellaneous threads, now would be a good time. (And when I say "save", I mean simply to post to them so they will be brought to the top of the list. Only older threads will be pruned. The more popular threads will be spared.)

 

Thanks for the notice, jasman. I brought up a few threads yesterday morning and I'll bring back a few more today, so that they don't get pruned.

Man, I should've waited a bit longer to bring up threads. Almost all the threads I brought up were buried by all the threads that other people brought up. Oh well..

 

I think there is an art to saving threads, and some of us need to learn this art. Yesterday, there were about 20 threads all brought up by someone with nothing but an "uppers". I, for one, am leaving the saving of old threads to SotS, because I know I don't want to irritate someone as much as someone irritated me yesterday. Oh well, enough ranting.

GMF, I think as long as we do things in an appropriate manner, we should help saving good threads. It is everyone's responsibility to make this place the most pleasant experience. I think both you and I have a lot of admiration for people like SOTS, so why not help them?

Well, the server usually crashes at around this time of night, so I thought I'd switch to an alias, just in case.

I personally don't like to bookmark threads. I prefer finding the threads manually.

Anyways, like I said before, if you have any requests, please post them here. I'm doing some upping now, so I'd be glad to bring any requested thread to the top.

 

Actually there has been a thread I've been trying to find but can't. It was called History Of The Jedi Council. It was posted a long time ago and told the history of this board.

I wish that I had saved a few more threads before I left for the US. A lot of classics were lost during the pruning.

How do you save threads from pruning when they have been locked?

 

You don't.

The Admins. can re-open it and bring it up and then close it if you beg them (sending money would probably also help).

But if a thread is closed.... it is because it is deemed "not appropriate."

There fore, by the Admins. reasoning, there is no reason to save it.
