Ha! Thanks to you, I will always think of SNL whenever I hear that song! Now I gotta watch that clip again....
[image=http://pool.org.au/files/imagecache/full_size/image/image/Underground%20Productions/DSC_0227.JPG] Umm...ok, so of course I like the whole 90s thing they have going on, and Rob Van Winkle shows that he's still got it, but...wow. Just wow. I'm reminded of this: That goes for Under Pressure, as well as Ice Ice Baby.
Just have to post that I read this thread regularly, even tho I have no idea (really, none) of what the heck is being posted. and am also thinking Bar and Grill..........which I have some memory of in the past, but now can not seem to find a bar and grill except here, which does not seem like, the kind of bar and Grill I remember. Yes, I can find Bar-s (drinking establishments, and I can find Grill,s (they have booze), but none together anymore. but, booze and food do not see to be the subject, so I guess that we are talking about things that might be talked about in a Bar and Grill, and so, this is me, wandering into the SBFF Bar and Grill, and just randomly babbling, cause that seems to to be what is going on. Hopefully, this was a useful/appropriate contribution. must now get back to work on my way to long movie list
OK everyone - I'm waking up this thread after a 2-1/2 month break. Let's start it off with an AWESOME cover. I'm not the biggest Gretchen Wilson fan, but I loves me some Alice in Chains. So here's an interesting combo that comes pretty freakin' close to the original. Of course, it never hurts to have Nancy Wilson actually playing guitar when you are covering this song, either (at 1:13). Gretchen Wilson & Alice in Chains - Barracuda
Another great cover - Chad Kroeger's vocals are perfect for this song. Nickelback - Sharp Dressed Man
Six weeks later.... Here's another Gretchen Wilson cover of a Heart song, this time featuring Heart! Gretchen Wilson & Heart - Crazy On You
In honor of our new friend from Kansas: Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son Sorry, Scruffynerfherder31 - all I know about you at this point is that you came to South Bend from Kansas. My dedications will get better as we get to know more about you. Better yet - post some of your own fav tunes here!
Well, I don't know about cover bands where I came from but, the movie She's Out of My League had a cover band of Hall and Oats and one of the songs they sang was "Kiss on My List". I thought the guy sang fairly well. Thanks for you suggestion.
While not the version cited above, you just can't beat classic 80s pop (especially when played live in 2008). Daryl Hall & John Oates - Kiss On My List
In honor of the forums coming back to life, let's go back to 1989! Soul II Soul - "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)"
Only because I heard it on the radio the other night. And because I've always dug the steel drum in this song. And because in this clip, Duff McKagan sits in on guitar. Jane's Addiction - Jane Says
Nice choice! Let's get this party started! And a one, and a two, and a one-two-three, a one-two-three... Rush - Tom Sawyer
