school insullts: regional variations

All this Jimmy and Chinny is getting very close to my name - James Chinniah

at school if we thought someone was lying we would beat him - and say "chinny Rek on" i'm not sure of the exact spelling or meaning .......It was all peer presure I was only trying to be cool , it's not my fault

Doyle was popular at our school for some strange reason as in:

'You doyle'

 

Chinny Reck-On

I just spat a mouthful of Dr Pepper over my monitor when I read that. If ever a phrase deserved to be resurrected it's that one.

Along a similar line we also had 'Jimmy Hill' (of course) and also 'Tuten-carm-Mooooon', where the mild stroke of the chin was replaced by a weird imagined elongation of the chin into a moonlike crescent shape.

Other schoolyard insults included
'Joey Deacon' (although that was superceded by 'Rocky Dennis'),
'Spacko' (accompanied by tongue pushed behind lower lip and slapping of wrist),
'Skill' (the African bum disease)
'Dill weed'
'Poo-yan'

We also used to find a hapless pupil, get a friend to kneel behind him and then engineer a conversation with him which ends with you pushing him over the knelt down accomplice to fall flat on his head

Other school phrases we had were
'Gert' ("X is gert good"),
'Wella' ("X is wella good"),
'Lair' or 'Lairy' ("X is lairy") or the ultimate accolade,
'Wella Lair' ("X is wella lair")

What are kids saying at the moment? Or are they too busy robbing mobile phones and stabbing each other for the kind of fun we used ot have?

 

Ok, wait. What's up with "chinny" as an insult? You calling people goats? Is that supposed to hurt?

 

My chins itchy, or my beards itchy were the insults we did when rubbing our chins

 

We had the chin one.

Cept our was normally, 'beeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaarrrrrrrddddddd'


or 'billy' as in billy goat with a beard on his chin I guess.

The kids (and bigger kids) now say phat...

Its the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Jon says it when he's been hanging with his young homeys. To which he gets severe raised eyebrows and waggly rulers.

Kids today try to talk like gangstas and it is the stupidest thing ever.


And what the flamin hell does Chinny Reckon mean?

 

When I was at school, it wasn't kicking chairs, it was chewing bits of paper and spitting it at the designated target.

And if anyone rubbed their chin and said chinnie chin chin or a variant thereof, they'd get the right royals kicked out of them for being a ****.

A 15 year old kid did it to me the other day...I was impressed

 

Y'know, it just shows how much I've changed over the years. When I was engaged when I was 18, my fiancée used to click his fingers and whistle at me to get my attention...and I always came to heel (like a feckin puppy)...

Jeez...if ANYONE did that to me now...I'd rip their feckin heads off and **** down their necks!
