Sci-Fi bumpers

Has anyone seen the new cool bumpers for the Sci-Fi channel? They range from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. There is a Tibetan monk whose head eats a bird, a man whose tatoos come to life, etc. These are really cool, and I think all of you excellent filmmakers out there should do one of your own, and that TFN should host them.

 

That stupid monk one freaked me out today!

I saw the monk just sitting there. Something odd about his head, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

A bird flies over his head. The bumps on his head "blink"! And it opens up and eats the bird. Monk smiles. OMG!

I like the "BUG KID" that buzzes around and sticks to the inside of the TV glass.
TFN bumpers would be cool.

Two people in kitchen.
One sitting at table reading paper.
Other struggling to open a bag of some type.
Struggling persone gives up, "Honey, can you open this?"
Without looking up from paper, sitting person reaches out, saber hilt flys to hand from off counter, ignites, slices open bag, contents spill all over the floor.
First person, a little dazed, "Uh, thanks"

Two people watching TV.
Door Bell.
One leaves to answer door.
Person returns carrying several small boxes.
Person that stayed, "What's all this."
"Just a couple scouts selling cookies."
"Why do you always have to cave in an buy so much?"
"It's not like I had a whole lot of choice you know."
EXT. In front of house.
Two biker scouts walking away from front door.
One is placing his blaster back into it's holster.
Other scout: "The blaster was a nice touch."
TFN Theater tag.

Mmmm. This could be a lot of fun!

wow that would be neat... If my comp was running I would make that scout one. That is hilarious.!!

lol the scouts would have to be cg for me... but I could do some neat textures to make em look good.

Cool! I'm also working on something this weekend. I need to experiment more with MiniDV, and these things are short enough that everyone can be very imaginative. With the effects prowess of the people on this forum, I'm looking forward to seeing some cool stuff.

 

well I am doing the one where the guy swings his sbaer around and rips open the bag (in my case box) of something... ya.

I wan't able to spend too much time on the actually filming (dern parental units) so it may not be as good as I hoped but at least I tried.

i havn't seen these bumpers on sci-fi...proberly cuz i don't have that channel...*Hangs head in shame*
but i do like the idea of the bumpers...a lot. Maby there could be one's for each of the main areas of TFN. like humour, games and Fanfilms. I have thought of one for the fan films.

Ext garden : two lads with sticks and a camera man.
lad 1 : now jedi you shall die.
Lad 2 : bring it on.
(Both line are said bandly like they don't know what they are doing)
Then darth vader walks by with a working lightsaber.
Vader : No No NO. try it like this...Join me, or feel the wrath of the dark side.
He then swings his lightsaber and cuts the lads stick in half and walks off.
The two lads look at each other puzzled.

We see a jedi, a starfighter, and a smuggler all sitting down at a holotable.

They contact each other and start playing a SW style video game but loose rather quickly.

Jedi : Who are these guys?

Smuggler: Man i wish i knew....

Fighter: Hanging head in shame crying....

Fade out as emperer laughs.....

LOL. That would be a great parody commercial. But, with a few changes.

First off, make the Jedi, smuggler, and fighter just guys in geeky costumes or something. Or just keep the confusion out of it and put em in regular street clothes.

Then, use Ben fletchers' "You are the weakest link, goodbye" soundbyte instead of "All too easy..."

Here's my idea.

Fade in on a middle school classroom. The teacher is giving a boring lecture. When he turns around, a student raises his finger and zaps him with blue lightning. The teacher gets a mild shock and turns around puzzled. Another student leans over to the first.

STUDENT: So that's why you spent so much money on AE.

Fade to TFN Theater logo.

OK, so I'm tired.
