Okies, well I think it's safe to say a CR is not really an option here at the moment. :p

How about having your own FF Scotland banner though? Seeing as this board has never had one at all, unless I'm mistaken?

EDIT// I forgot, but also how about naming the place, like the rest of the boards? :D

aye, there's been much talk about a scottish banner...... and the material for it would be easy...... the scots actors .... Ewan (in kilt of course), Dennis Wedge-guy, etc...... ewoks in 'see you Jimmy' hats....... that photo-shopped still from Braveheart with lightsabers grafted on........ C3PO with one leg missing and bricks under his knee....

except I've no idea of the technical specs for constructing said montage...?
    or the upload process...?

send me the details and I'll knock something together.

Oh, and... Iain McDiarmid's Scottish. You could have Palpy on your banner.

    Just a thought.

    very good....

as I frequently maintain, the scottish board is alive and well... it is simply that our small army of posters, being scots, or at least scots-inclined, have lives to live and habits to pursue.

    this is a healthy thing

were this a haunt of sunken-eyed net zombies, sat slack-jawed in darkened bedrooms, it might be busier, but only with countless posts of the "hi, bye, c u l8r" variety.

quality over volume, I say, in all things but alchohol, where quality AND volume are equally important.

Another to tack on to the list of Scots Star Wars actors: Julian Glover aka General Veers from Star Wars, and the main bad guy in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, was born and grew up in Edinburgh.

By the way: 77 days *beams*

    really ?

I'd have sworn that the Veers fella was as English as one of the Queen's jobbies *

    (* ie half-german)

of course, a lot of the PT costumes were designed by Trisha Biggar who lives in Glasgow's west-end, so we've got room for manouevre.

ps: four degrees of seperation -

    George Lucas
    employs
    Trisha Biggar
    who has a son
    Young Master Biggar
    who gets guitar lessons from
    Jim 'Rik Flik' Brady
who plays guitar in a band with
    ME !

I'm practically in the films :)

Well, it's good to see there is life here still. :)

One thing I want to see (apart from the banner), is this board with it's own name.

Something that sums you guys up well (within reason that is DD :p ).

    Any suggestions?

do a banner with star wars characters photo-shopped into kilts...
and call it "I find your lack of pants disturbing"

or maybe call it "the scotland wastes - not to be travelled lightly" ?

or "Rebellious Scots" with a Rebel symbol wearing a 'Jimmy' hat and a smile

    etc

Yes, Julian Glover aka General Veers, despite in his day looking very much like an Aryan poster boy, is from Edinburgh originally. He told me himself :D

Those magnificent men in their AT-AT machines, never knew that Glover was one of the good guys ;)

    Ach gawn he is really!

*I find your lack of pants disturbing* [face_laugh] Gets my vote!

Or how about, "Chewie's actually yer original Glesga hairy, yous jist cannae understaun him!", and have him stoatin' out the Solid after a hefty shift.

No he is really, he just comes across as if he's making animal noises to those unnacustomed to our unique dialect....Come on we've all sounded like the big man at some point no?

    Wotcha, Blueeyes! Aberdeeeeeeeen!

And did anyone mention Ray Parks, well-known small Scottish person.

Re. the banner - I like the idea of Ewoks in tartan holding cans of McEwans. Small, hairy, vicious buggers no one can understand... can't think why they remind me of my countrymen... ;-)

I'm an English teacher in South Lanarkshire - something of an awful admission considering the composition of my forum contributions - and a bigger wean than any of the pupils I teach.
My SW toy collection and fandom are, I am ashamed to say, dark secrets. Nerds are one minority that equal opportunities legislation seems not to cover.
