San Diego, CA SDFF Monthly Meeting: April - Meeting Notes

The April Meeting took place at Panera Bread, Mira Mesa on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Things discussed:

• The passing of Richard LeParmentier, Admiral Motti, passed away April 16

• Iron Man 3 Midnight 9 P.M. IMAX 3D Screening - this Thursday, May 2, Edwards Mira Mesa

• May the 4th be with you this Saturday - There is a special Return of the Jedi screening at the Egyptian theater in Hollywood

• May the 4th is also Free Comic Book Day - visit your local comic book shops to pick up a stash of free comic books - and meet some local comic creators (at some events)

• Our photos from the Landmark trip attended by James, David and Jacob are up on StarWars.com, along with a bunch of other photos.

• May 11: Long Beach Comic Expo - for sci-fi fans:
- Claudia Christian from Babylon 5 is a special guest with her new project "Nobility"
- Pink Five Saga screening with creator Trey Stokes and actor Stephen Stanton.
- Special Appearances by Rick Fitts (Star Trek TNG / Voyager), Michael Gregory (SW TOR), Rich Arons (Animator: He-Man, Ghost Busters, She-Ra, Tiny Toon Adventures, The Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes), and Terry Naughton (Animator: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Mulan, and more)

• Anniversary party, tentatively scheduled for May 18th to coincide with the May meeting (and SW anniversaries) at Belmont Park. Another option was to do a traditional picnic at Mission Bay, but it was shot down. We missed it last year, need to do something huge this year.

• June 27 - 30: BotCon San Diego: The Transformers Collectors' Convention - Town and Country Resort and Convention Center, 500 Hotel Circle North San Diego, CA 92108 - A whole program trac on The Rock Lords.

• June 30: Disneyland's 9th Annual Star Wars Unofficial Fan Day

• July 18 - 21: COMIC-CON

• Ponies, ponies, and more ponies...followed by Doctor Who and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
