search function failure

Everytime I have been trying to use the search function lately, it takes forever to come up or fails to come up at all. It is happening to me board-wide.

 

What are you searching for?

 

THe search function works sometimes... you just have to be smart about what words you put in. Google can also be helpful, especially if you remember the thread title.

 

i was searching for the rate the sig thread in the YJCC, and nothing was happening. I was searching earlier for my human vs wasp thread, and nothing happened there either.

Sometimes it's quicker to find threads via the "Recent Posts" link in users profiles who you know have posted in the thread you're looking for.

i just tried searching for something really random, just a random word, and once again nothing happened.

 

Okay, well.... here's the only answer you are going to get:

Zerosleep is the only one that can fix that. we don't control what zerosleep does. IGN does. We are moving anyways, though, so it will most likely be better after we move. Sorry the search function doesn't always work, but that's life. Try using google, it really is very helpful. Just put "Jeci Council" in your search in addition to whatever it is you want to search for.

 

It's always been glitchy like that.

 

The less you make it search for, the better it will work. Like they said, search smart.

 

It works fine for me when I search for my username.

If you put "site:boards.theforce.net" in front of whatever you're searching for in google, only results from these boards will show up.

 

When I use broad terms in the search function that I know will produce alot of results I typically expect the Search Function to not work properly. If you narrow your search down to more unique words of the thread you are looking for you should have better results and less crashes. Avoid using very common words.
