    TCW does a good job making R2 look grimmy in my opinion. The screenshot up there as a really nice gritty texture on the droid's surface.

    With the way TCW animation is always improving each season it could happen. I've been rather impressed by most of the droids and most of them still need model updates. Then check out how good the Phase II clones look. Cody in the Slave Arc looks like he could be live action.

    I'm still waiting for them to update the Super Battle Droid model. It looked fine in season 1 when everything was stylized but that style has slowly been phased out and the Super Battle Droid is all that remains of it. It just looks so out of place now.

    I love the look of TCW Super Battle Droid, it looks more menacing that the one in the films.

    It's also how they looked in the micro-series with the light bulb shape.

    I think they re-did the textures.... Look at the Clone Commando preview they have much darker Armour...


    Also, I really didn't like the way they looked in TCW but Ive gotten used to it.

    When the battle droids were are used correctly I think the TCW model is great. What improvements should be made? I think the droidekas are the one that need the major overhaul.

    Agreed. They need to get longer, their legs are too short in the series.

    Well just think, how many times have we actually seen the Droidekas in the show? I hate that design to, much more then the Super Battle Droids but you don't see them enough to really care.
    Its not that I dislike the design (personally I prefer the film version in terms of menace) but it clashes so much with the more realistic designs the characters have taken. In season 1 and 2 they were fine when Anakin had sideways anti-grav spike hair, and the Clone Trooper helmets had the really deep cuts in them but now they just stick out like sore thumbs.

    I think this show should strive to improve all the models, even the ones that are lesser used. We did see droidekas this season. Thank Pete they didn't role up in Secret Weapons.

    Stalling and giving us lesser arcs before the Maul stuff so we could be depraved and hungry for awesomeness... then the Maul arc will come and will be a rousing success.

    Not to mention the new design could prove to just suck in general and make it harder to find every week. I hope they don't do the schedules like Adult Swim does in that damn impossible to read chart.
