Secret of Mana

Anyone else remember this awesome RPG? Well it may not be 'awesome' when compared to other RPGs, but it was my first ever RPG and as such holds a spot in my heart for that.

Anyways, I know Square is in the process, or at least was in the process of turning some of her older RPGs from the SNES onto playstation form, any chance they are working on doing this for Secret of Mana?

 

Does it really count as an RPG? I never viewed it as one. Although I guess it has everything an RPG needs. But I don't like RPGs very much

It's still one of the best games I ever played. It's been some time since I played it, though.


Didn't I read somewhere that they're doing a Mana game for the DS or something?

The most awesome thing about Secret of Mana is that I can sell the copy of it that I bought for £20 for upwards of £80 now. SCORE!

 

I started playing this game awhile ago...I should probably get back to it.

 

Playing multiplayer was awesome. I remember this here game ruling. I have legend of Mana also, but ain't got into it yet.

 

I think it is a stupid, terrible game and anyone who plays it is a filthy human being.

I never got Legend of Mana as I heard it sucked. But this game was flatout amazing and a ton of fun. I wish I still had a SNES and the game so I could play it whenever to my hearts content.

 

Square was the gem of the SuperNES. When I think of the SuperNES the first thing that comes to mind are Final Fantsy III/VI, Chrono Trigger and Secret Of Mana. Secret Of Mana was a great game. Square was at the top of their game during the SuperNES years.

I'd probably play it a lot more if I had a decent gamepad for my PC....

Secret of Mana ruled.

However, Legend of Mana, sucked hardcore.

 

I played the sequel Seiken Denstetsu 3 or something like that. Which never made to the US

 

I have also played SD3. The best character is Hawk.

SoM was alright. I liked CT better though.

 

i played sd3 too, almost beat it. i think...

but i don't know why they never translated that game, it would've been good. i got some emulator patch for it to be in english about 3 or 4 years ago, but that just did'nt work. my favorite character in that game was the werewolf, he was probably the toughest and most rapid fighter. why did the dude with the sword suck so much?

 

Yes, Kevin was great.

I forget the sword dude's name...he was a bit boring to me. I did like Angela (?) the wizard. RAINBOW!

It's also the game that introduced me to prestige classes.

I played a little bit of the game and it actually was a lot of fun to play. Can you still find a copy of nowadays?

 

I would think only on Ebay, and it's worth a lot of money.

Though it's easier to play if you *don't* want a copy of the SNES game.

Yes - I have fond memories. I bought this game and then got snowed in for two days solid - since I coldn't go anywhere I just played it the whole time. Good times.

 

I loved that game. It was one of my fave SNES games ever.

 

Emulators > SNES

 

n00b question, what is Secret of Mana?
