Summary: A group of characters have to survive in the perilous regions of Coruscant during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion.
Notes: I got the example given in the Star wars era/Character/situation roulette - by Ewok-Kenobi!

I selected #8: A group of OC's get stuck in the somewhat perilous regions of Coruscant (Eg, all of the carnivorous wildlife, and the strange creatures/people that survive down there) and have to make thier way out. Kinda like horror/survival. Can be in any time period, and if you are familiar with the Vong, that would add some interesting things too it.

A single New Republic soldier tried to hide behind the broken columns of the collapsing structure that she had run into away from the bombardment of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors. She held her blaster tightly to her chest at the ready as the evil solitary creature approached. It had its leathery amphistaff at the ready with its trio of polyps reaching out and snatching whatever prey could be found and redirecting it into the polyp's gaping maw, thus feeding all four entities simultaneously.

The black clad monstrosity marched down the broken steps leading into the wreckage that the soldier hid behind. Perspiration started dripping down her sweat and bloodied uniform. She had seen the amphistaff used in battle before by the evil Yuuzhan Vong. Flashes of deadly lethality raced in her mind as she saw the organic and venomous jaws tearing at one of her team member's face. She was desperately trying to hopefully regroup with the remaining members of her attack team.

Her team had suffered numerous casualties from the nearly indestructible amphistaff's that the Yuuzhan Vong warriors wielded. The polyps could only be killed by repeated blunt trauma or by the removal of the head. Unfortunately, no one had gotten close enough to an amphistaff-armed Yuuzhan Vong and lived.

The amphistaff had spat venom at a distance of 20 meters at the attacking New Republic soldiers. This spray was aimed directly at the target's eyes and instantly blinded them. Poison then seeped through the pores and entered the victim's bloodstream, interfering with the circulation and choking off the oxygen supply. She personally had witnessed the excruciating pain that accompanied the suffering victim. After an unrelenting pain for twenty hours the victim's finally died a horrible death. Those that had more serious injuries were fortunate to not have suffered through the unimaginable pain that others had.

The scared New Republic soldier heard the evil warrior get called away from her location as a new group of soldiers had just arrived. Tears streamed down her face as she looked upon their horrified faces. The Yuuzhan Vong warriors snapped at the hapless group with their amphistaffs as she bolted further into the obliterated building escaping from the deafening screams that echoed in the distance.

She came to a darkened passage and lit a small lightstick to see. She caressed the slimy walls that lingered with the uneasy smell of rot and decay. She carefully walked by the jagged bricks that layered the dingy sewer that she gracefully descended into. She peered warily around each corner as the slime coalesced around her bloodied boots.

She was starting to grow weary from the hours of travel that this journey had become. She began to wonder if she would ever find anyone else that had survived the massacre on the surface of Coruscant above. A granite slug inched its way in the sewer looking for duracrete worms to feast on in the muck that she waded through. She squished the numerous, ugly bugs underneath her boots and scraped off their remains with each step that she took.

Finally, in the distance, she could hear the soft whispers of some familiar voices. She walked into a huge underground lair decorated in glittering rocks that sparkled the room
