A hopefully interesting idea I have, where users who are undecided on proceeding with a book or series get it 'sold' to them by the fans.

So, someone sell to me Darth Vader & the Ghost Prison, because it sounds lame by its title.

Because your avatar looks like a ghost, so you know you'll like it?

Alternatively, you could also approach it like a grovelling apology from Blackman for all the wrongs done to the Dark Lord in The Force Unleashed. :p

Buy it because the Empire and Vader typically bore me but the comic is VERY good.

It's been my observation that just about everyone who loathed Darth Vader & The Lost Command is loving Darth Vader & The Ghost Prison - that gets it a gamble purchase, once the release date is known!

If I judged it by the title, I would expect a crossover with the Ghostbusters.

Art so good, I can almost forget that it's about a bunch of white people.

    Almost.

Well, said white people are being culled by a dude who's put on a black mask, so maybe Vader's joined the cause to correct the statistics after he started to feel bad about all the Hayden masks. :p

Buy it, because it is, by far, the best thing ever released by Dark Horse Comics.

Half of Legacy. A third of Republic. Obsession. Half of KOTOR. Resurrection.

Oh, and I imagine they've put out a good non-SW comic or two. People seem to enjoy that whole Buffy and Hellboy business.

Hyperbole is a natural part of salesmanship ;)

No comment from me though, on my "read soon" list. Once, you know, I have money and time.

Seeing how Loyal Imperial was serious though... I think it's become my number one Star Wars priority. Well, that or the Lost Tribe collection.

Oh wait, that's a good topic. I'm that obnoxious customer who loiters around the store and just can't decide what to buy; Lost Tribe or Ghost Prison? Sell me. I realize the latter is not finished yet, but it looks like it wraps up pretty soon, so close enough.

Of course I'll buy both eventually, so it turns out I'm that obnoxious customer who just wasted your time.

Plot involves Tarkin taking over Coruscant. Almost right after ROTS.

There's more to it than that but you've got to read it.:D

Also, this comic gives a better reason why Anakin was PO'ed at the Council than any source I've seen yet.

Easily the best EU product with "Darth Vader and" in the title.

Woah there... let's not get too carried away...

    Nothing tops Vader & R2 & 3PO.

Great idea for a thread, @Sinrebirth!

So, can somebody sell The Courtship of Princess Leia to me?
I'm serious; I've read the whole Bantam run (and most of it multiple times) but that one somehow always escaped me. Is it worth going back to, or do I already know everything there is to know about it from all the other books in which it's referenced?

Opinions vary wildly. Can you handle cheesy dialogue? Can you buy the idea of Leia falling in love with another man (for what it's worth on that one, I just remember they tried to get married earlier and it failed; thanks, Jedi Prince!)? If so, get it. It's as lighthearted as they come, and it's not as good on rereads, but the first time through, it's a really fun little adventure novel. It's absolutely unapologetic in being one, too.

Can you handle the idea of Han owning Dathomir?

Personally, I always found it ludicrous how Han was able to decide to go gamble one night and come away with the ridiculous sum that he did. Didn't he make like 30 million credits in one night? Why the hell didn't he get rich that way in his smuggling days?

Oh right. The power of love. Or he cheated.

That said, I actually really liked Luke in the book. He's very much in "Gandalf mode", but considering the guy had just spent over a year in seclusion (well, with R2), searching for Jedi artifacts, it's understandable how he might go all stoic Jedi-wannabe on us.

Its a lot better then Darth Vader and the Lost Command and it really allows Vader to shine though I think that only happens maybe by the third issue? I quite enjoy it so far and it returns Vader to being the cool Sith he should be instead of the mopey one from Lost Command.
