    Errr.... let's see...

    1. Get at 1500+ on the SAT I.

    2. Get accepted into Columbia University. (Best college for journalism that I know about!)

    3. Get over my addiction to the JC. ;)

    4. And did I mention getting into Columbia? :p

good luck with #'s 1&2, it seems to me you shouldn't have any problems. you are an extremely intelligent person, in fact i often forget that you are a lot younger than most of the rest of us.

    :)

as for #3, well i would wish you luck but we'd miss you yoo much :(

    [face_laugh] I don't think #3 is going to ever happen, Tom. ;) :p

    Now numbers 1 and 2... I'm working on. [face_mischief]

Though I don't think I'll get a 1500. I get great grades, but Standardized tests aren't my thing. Stupid SAT. It's the thing that is going to mess up my college chances. Truthfully, if I got a 1400, which I might not even reach, I'd be happy. :(

well, i consider myself fairly bright and i only scored 1340, so don't feel too bad if you don't get 1400.

Actually, I don't think the SAT I are a reflection on a person's intelligence or how hard they work. That's why they are so frustrating. Colleges give them a lot of weight, but I don't think they're accurate. :)

yeah, i totally agree with that assessment! :)

unfortunately, i'm going to have to take another standardized test in order to go to grad school, the GRE. and i haven't taken any math in 12 years :_|

Oh gosh. They test you on math even though you aren't planning on studying it? (Or are you? And if not, what? ?[face_plain] ) That must stink. :(

no, i'm definitely not planning on studying it, but it is part of the test, i don't think the math on the test is all that advanced though. i really need to get one of those study booklet/practice test thingamajigs so i can start jogging my brain.

Yeah, practice tests are really good. Many of those booklet things also review all the skills so that should be helpful.

What general subjects are you planning on studying when you go back?

    You'll make it, Jones. :)

It's what Tom said: I often forget you're circa ten years younger than we are. It's quite an age gap, which you sort of manage to bridge with your intelligence.

And you're better at ballet dancing than we are! Than I am, anyway -- don't know about Tom. :D

If anyone can do it, it's you Jones! Those are great aspirations to have... it's wonderful to have a fulfilling goal to work towards, isn't it? :)

    Good luck Jones.

Very lofty goals, but attainable for someone as intelligent as you.

I only got a 1430 on the SATs(Only took them once [750 math, 680 verbal]).

Don't leave the JC. We'll miss you and everyone will cry. Do you want us to cry?

    Thanks you guys. :)

Yes, my goals are rather lofty I agree. :p

But I decided to shoot high even if I don't make it. Can't hurt, trying I always say. :)

    Wow! 1430, Erik? That's a great score! :D

I have no idea what these SAT scores are, but good luck with acheiving them, Jones. :)

And send us a photo of you standing outside Columbia on your first day as well. :)
