TK and Jacen did grow up together. Some things just cannot/should not be replaced.

At least they had Allana, even though "JINO" is Jasa no more.

At the end of everything that can be said, I feel pity for Danni Quee. What would have happened had Knightfall been published?

I haven't read any YJK, is Jacen portrayed as a pacifist in those books?

 

He is the softer and more philosophical of the three.

 

No - he has no trouble using his lightsaber in self-defence at least, or fighting in the war against the Second Imperium.

 

He loves stupid jokes and animals.

 

That doesn't mean he isn't empathetic and a thinker.

They were depressing and heart breaking though I suppose that was the point.

 

I'll reserve judgment until I see how VIII and IX turn out, but VII was a little too similar to the original trilogy in many places.

While not always perfect, the NJO stories provided things I've always wanted in Star Wars, namely, a threat that isn't the Empire or some offshoot of it and actually moving the story forward rather than relying on the past.

 

Ironically, for me the Vong felt meaningless and disconnected to the themes of Star Wars.

The Empire is about the evils of fascism and the loss of democracy.

What do the Vong have to say about that?

 

It's a case of what I call "villain fatigue".
It's always been the same villain. id est the Empire. Which would have been fine, had they not surrendered.
Then what?
The Vong, as an enemy, is powerful and dangerous. They are not perfect and I wish the Jedi were not portrayed as weak during the NJO.
but still. They existed, whereas other enemies were just neutralized and gone.
Everyone else forfeited the game. The Vong wins by default

 

Had hope that the Gwen Clone from Clone Conspiracy survived but no. Would have made the setting too interesting. Who needs story potential and character growth in a Spider Man Comic Series

 

Why should they say anything about fascism? Why should Star Wars continuously repeat the same things? The Original Trilogy was about the evils of Fascism. Shouldn't the next story say something new? The Prequels told us new things. What is TFA saying? The same old ****. I think Star Wars sequels should always give us something new. Star Wars sequels shouldn't try to remind us of the OT. They should bring us to new places.

 

Eh, we just had a whole series that fundamentally reshaped the status quo, which was **** on by fans, while the book that goes back to the old SQ and ignores the character growth is hyped up...

 

So what do the Vong say about anything?

I mean they're evil religious immigrants and refugees so...?

 

Who are defeated by understanding them, and with the help of good 'people' within the society.

And the ones who want to kill them all are wrong and also lose.

So I would say there is a lot to say about current society.

Society can be corrupted by people wanting to use it's beliefs for their own gain.

It also occurs to me that Vector Prime and TFA hit a few of the same points (killing main character, blowing up big weapon) not exactly the same but there is cross over. I wonder how much (if any) legends stuff was looked at by the people making ST
