I never saw the old one. There's a surprising amount of people looking forward to the remake. We'll see.

Well, now it has a reference to Tusken Raiders. That's gotta count for something.

No. Because instead of an original idea they're stealing an old one. Creative armpit of the world and all that.

All I am saying is Inception proved you can do smart, new films and people will love them. Even with BOWWWWWWWWWWWW moments in the soundtrack.

Inception is based on a Scrooge McDuck comic.

There actually is a Forrest Gump sequel, albeit it's only the novel sequel to the original novel on which the film was based.

I heard there was one too, and it's supposed to be terrifyingly awful.

hell no... SFS is quite excellent. Some of the best character moments- ever. We lose two characters in the flick-both belonging to Kirk; David and the Enterprise.... "Klingon bastards! you killed.... my.... son." Excellent. Insurection is just shoddy, lame effects, dumb story and that annoying awful female actress that plays Picards' love interest... such a horrible actor.

The theft of the Enterprise from spacedock in The Search for Spock is a) one of the greatest sequences in any Trek films and b) one of the best "what does Star Trek mean" sequences in any Trek film.

The last third of Inception was a remake of the last third of every Roger Moore Bond film ever made.

Huge Nolan fan, but Inception just wasn't that great. Original, yes, but execution should have been better, given Nolan's talents and the great cast. That Limbo stuff at the end was bull****. I've rarely seen such an anticlimactic . . . oh god shut up rogue no one actually cares anymore that you didnt like inception

I like Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer more than the original, but that's like saying I prefer having my fingernails ripped off rather than have my eyes gouged.

    LOL! No.

    [face_laugh]

dp4m Agreed. Kirk and crew stealing the Enterrpise was a great sequence. The Excelsior crapping out right before her warp jump was a nice bit of added comedy.

I'm not at all embarrassed to say that I like Mission Impossible 3 better than 1 and 2 combined. And also better than 4. The first one is purposefully cheesy so as to feel like an old tv serial and the second one is trying too hard to be cool, whereas the third one just does its own thing and does it great.

Huh, that's really interesting. I've always had flipped opinions about those first two. The first one is the one that seems to be to be trying to reach a sort of cool neo-noir/techno-thriller peak. And the second one is the one that I've found to be really cheesy and, in many ways, really kind of be a parody of spy movies.

I don't blame people who don't like the first MI since it basically takes the original series, places it under the producers, has the producers unzip their pants and has them shart all over it.

I like some of the sequences in that film, but man -- does it suck for people who liked the series.
