Danny in Toronto has volunteered to composite and prepare for printing the cards, as he has extensive experience in the printing/layout industry. Here are images of sample cards he's done. Many of you have seen these at various parties, and have agreed that these are acceptable designs. He (Danny) has suggested that a ¾ dramatic or action pose (like Mindy's sample) on the front and a full figure on the back seems quite stylish, and will make info on the back more readable. He's amenable to a tremendous degree of personalization (colors of border, background image on front and back, etc.), and really wants to do a great job for us. (Ignore mis-spelling of Gil's name, this was an early composite test) Big Dan is gathering the archive of photos taken by Biz's uncle & aunt for me to send to Danny, as there are some people who had pics taken but never printed cards for series 1. He also has updated pricing on quantities. Turn-around time after proofing (no more red gourds) is only a couple of weeks. In addition, Bob Hubbard (photographer from Bisons games) has graciously offered to open up his studio (on a call-ahead basis) for any additional and new green screen photography. Below is the information we'll need to supply for each card, which I can either forward to Danny or you can send it directly. Undoubtedly I've forgotten something, but it'll turn up eventually. FRONT OF CARD: Primary costumed picture (good ¾ front) Character Name Designation (Rebel, Imperial, Jedi, etc) Color of border Character symbol (Jedi, Imperial, etc) Background behind your image (many authentic SW location shots are available) BACK OF CARD: Your 2nd picture choice (can be full figure) background image Name (Real name) Forum Name Date Joined Brief Character Bio Club Activities: (elected or appointed position) Fun Facts: Favorite Character First Action Figure Bought Fan Since Favorite SW Movie Name of Other Costumes (if you have them)
Everyone will obtain their photos, send in for templates, and order individually. The goal is to have done before the Bison's game. Details are in the minutes I mailed out. I will post on the Boards once I have the THREAD completely updated,
Larry- the only thing missing as far as I can tell is Danny's contact information. How would helike for us to go about sending him our photos?
I can say that once the layouts are made for the cards, it takes approx 24 hours for proofing and 5-7 business days to get said cards. Since I've dealt with the company on more than one occasion I can do all the legwork with them if that's good with everyone.
I was able to fix my computer issues and recover my artwork. I submitted my design in progress to Larry, but not sure how I can post that here...
You can reach him via Facebook. I just did and set up a shoot for this Saturday at 6pm at his studio (his garage) at his home in South Buffalo. I'm guessing I won't take long and perhaps he might be willing to do some other people that same evening.
Yes, this thread isn't meant for voting, just to showcase the ideas and provide information. We will be discussing this in the February meeting. My proposal is open for suggestions and revisions. This too can be discussed at the meeting as needed, although, whichever design we go with, this should be done quickly to allow enough time for the layouts to be individually created and the cards processed/delivered.
I have an appointment with Bob on Weds at 3 if anyone wants tp join me. But you would have to contact Bob to make sure its okay.
