I have this issue with my customers at work. There is a Frankenstein ticketing application we have that has been version upgraded and patched together for 3 versions and has never been clean installed. Then, instead of doing a clean install for the latest version they wanted a haphazard upgrade and wonder why the latest version runs like garbage... all because they fear the loss of data they'll never lookup or use.

 

Grahame Not sure if it's been mentioned already (I skimmed through the thread, sorry if I missed it) but it looks like e-mail notifications for PMs aren't being sent.

Yes, today. I don't think it ever happened to me before.

EDIT LAJ_FETT Actually one PM-related email never made it through and another went to spam (just checked).

 

In that case I'll ask Grahame. I know we were having mail server issues prior to the move but haven't heard of anything today.

 

I'm honestly not sure, I'm able to send test emails from the system so I know that the mail configuration is correct. Will keep checking.

 

If one went to spam at least you know it was sent. Try adding the sender to the 'not spam' list for future emails.

 

I just subscribed to this thread so I get email replies, and they're coming through. We did change the sending address to be noreply@theforce.net because Grimby was getting a lot of bouncebacks so maybe you just need to tweak your spam settings slightly.

 

Chyntuck - out of curiousity what is the date/time that the PM you didn't get an alert for was sent? (And what time zone are you set for on the boards?)

 

Yup, just fixed my spam settings. However the PM that went to spam was from Ben.

Another weird thing: I just sent a PM and I got an inbox alert on the boards as if I'd been receiving one instead.

(I have no idea if all this is relevant to you at all or not, I'm signalling it just in case and I hope I'm not being a pain in the backside )

Yesterday 16:33 Central European time.

 

OK - it's possible that got caught up in the problems we were having when the boards first came back. There were mail-related errors in the server log at that point.

 

Why are things now moving slower for me and causing double posts? Fix it! Fix it now!
