Seth MacFarlane + Nazis = Laughs, I suppose.

 

Yes, this years' Oscar telecast is so bad that the first headline that Captain Kirk showed will not even cover how much worse Seth has been as the host. These jokes are so lame it's just so ridiculous.

 

They should have let him do joke songs about boobs. He's funnier then

Yay Anne Hathaway. I mean, we all knew she would win but still. She deserved it. And how cool is it for her to get presented the award by Christopher Plummer? Nice.

EDIT: I don't totally blame MacFarlane for the lameness. A lot of the bad jokes have been ones written for other presenters and I don't know if he wrote those or not.

 

That song was one of the worst points of it, imo.

 

Yeah. Yay Anne! . I'll suffer the horrors of watching a godsdamned musical (and Russell Crowe's "singing") just to see your performance alone.

 

Suffering doesn't even begin to describe this mess tonight, more like pain and suffering and torment.

 

I no longer fear hell, for I have heard most of tonight's jokes.

 

Aw c'mon, they've all not been THAT bad.

 

I don't understand why people feel like they are suffering. Did you actually have high expectations? The Oscars are never very funny. They have to be so restrictive because of network rules and crap like that. So I dunno, I'm not disappointed because I didn't expect anything I guess.

Hardly. I've seen duller Oscars. Considerably, insufferably dull. Seth should've done more song and dance bits and shelved some of the lamer jokes, though.

 

I didn't actually see the Franco and Hathaway one because I was on vacation. But yeah, I don't think MacFarlane's been bad. The writing, sure. You can tell a lot of it's the writing because everyone seems lame and unfunny up there. And I don't even like MacFarlane that much, so I've got no real reason to defend him.

As to how I'm doing on predictions... no idea, I can't remember who I predicted on most of these I will say that I'm super happy Argo won for editing, though.
